I am so thankful I have this sight it led me to bariatric foodie and Nic. I have strugled with not eating and not getting any protein in.I was actually afraid of FOOD. I found some really great recipes on there one was the foil packet Tilapia. I have finally eat something that actually tastes great and has protein. If your new here I definitely reccomend you check this site out!! Thank God For this site Im not so scared of eating anymore!!

well I had surgery on the 22nd. I had an allergic reaction to the pain meds they gave me and I was sick as a dog. I threw up blood and my dr was very concerned. we got all that under control and I got to come home friday. I had the very best surgeon. I have never met a Dr like him.I also cant say enough about the hospital I was in awesome caring ppl.I am slowly but surely feeling better the pain is getting less and I still dont want to eat or drink Im strugling with nausea still. I am thankful for my family and friends. I want to say Thank you to my OH friend Jessica it was a very wonderful surprise receiving that phone call the night before surgery you are an angel.I wish you the best of luck for your surgery this tuesday I know you have the best surgeon and hospital staff to take care of you. Ihope to be able to update soon.

Well I am just 3 days away from surgery. I am beginning to get a little nervousand joyous all at the same time!!! I have really battled my blood sugar on this all liquid diet this week I hope it is not as difficult after surgery to maintain normal glucose levels! Im thankful God has brought me this opportunity but so ashamed I got myself into the shape I am in. I pray I will do well with this.

well on Monday  Dr Spaws nurse called and said she still hadnt received my cardiac clearance. I called them they assured me they sent it. I let it go thinking it just hadnt gotten there.Well today she calls and says if its not there by today at 4;00 my surgery would have to be rescheduled, I was in town so I went to the cardiologists office she called the lady she had spoken to and had her check. sure enough the records were there!! The Dr office called back and said Dr spaw would review the chart and my surgery was still on for tuesday. A 2 week liquid diet + hunger pains+ Diabetes +This phone call =whew I was about to find the nearest Mcdonalds and say IM DONE!!! LOL scary moment but all is well!!! They had faxed the clearance to baptist hospital instead of DR. Spaws office.

Today has been so rough I woke up with nausea and a headache!! This liquid diet is hard !! I had such an urge to eat yesterday it was unreal I was ready to pack it in and say forget it!!! I havent been able to get down the protein shakes and Im guessing that is why I was so hungry. I hope this get easier. My Blood sugar has been in the 80's and all i want to do is sleep I have no energy whatso ever )O:}

I had my nuclear stress test done this morning It was horrible I will never ever do it again! It felt like I was dying! But I survived it LOL and they called this evening and said the results were good so my surgery has been approved and is still set for JUNE 22nd. I am doing alright on the liquid diet Im drinking the Carnation Good start sugar free instant breakfasts I like it better than the protein drinks!! I have had a killer headache and Im really weak but I have been modifying my insulin pump and getting wacky blood sugar readings. I dread the next week where it is all Liquids. I met a sweet lady that had DS surgery in the late 80's she was so encouraging and gave me a hug and said you can do this you deserve it!! It really helped me to hear that. The power of a kind word and gesture are so helpful..

Well tomorrow is my last day before going on the liquid diet!! My sweet Mother called and told me she was cooking my meal for me. Chicken & Dumplings and buttermilk cornbread my absolute fave. It is sooo goood it almost makes me want to reconsider surgery. LOL!!!!  I wished I inherited my mothers genes. She weighs 98 lbs is 5'1.  I start my liquid diet tuesday and I see the cardiologist Wed and Thurs for nuclear stress test Im praying for good results!!!

My  Dr wanted me to get cardiac clearance before the RNY. Fine no problem. I go today EKG was normal BP 117/ 88 pulse rate 107 Edema on ankles. She schedules me for a nuclear stress test for next week on the 9th & 10th my WLS is set for 6-22- As I ask if I will receive the results in enough time to still have the surgery they inform me they arent sure because there has been a shortage of the nuclear medicine used for the testing. The nurse said she would call next week to tell me if they get the meds in to do the testing.She tells me the 9th and 10th was subject to change.   I dont know whether to be happy they want to make sure everything is okay or cry because I dont want this to interfere with my surgery!!!!    UUUGGGHHH Im frustrated!

Hehe If I wanted to keep quiet about my surgery theres no way I can Now!!! My daughter was with me yesterday when I scheduled my surgery. The teacher calls me today to Enquire because Abby went to school this morning and told her teacher and classmates her mommy was gonna be skinny cause this Dr. was gonna cut her mommys big belly and butt off!!!!!!    I laughed so hard I couldnt breathe!!
