WOW!

Feb 16, 2008

I finally had my first WOW moment, I had a baby shower to go today and I looked in my closet for something to wear and tried on sooooo many things that are JUST TO BIG! I went to Nordstrom and splurged on a pair of $56 jeans in the big girl section but alas the 18 was just huge so I had her bring me a 16 .. well it fit but with the big gape in the waist at the back. I leave the dressing room and tell her no luck today... she said did you at least try the 14, UMMMM NO.. hello have you seen me, I think to myself? Well she asks me to and so off I go and WHATDOYAKNOW?? they fit. Yes they may run big... but OK!! Low rise and all ... yes there is the tad bit of muffin top when I sit down, but YEA!

Happy New Year!

Jan 04, 2008

2008 will be a wonderful experience! I am lucky to have found this site and to meet some of the most amazing people here. I look to all of them..... pre op and post op for my encouragement and lifestyle changes, everyone is full of loads of great information! It is so nice to have a bunch of people to share this with.

I am able to wear my size 18 pants and button them, would like them to be a tad looser, but maybe in a week or two! I may have to buy some new work pants soon, mine are falling off and the back looks like I am carrying a load...LOL I am still having to supplement with a protein shake or drink, once a day to keep on top of my daily intake. The days that I work are the hardest, I am out on the retail floor trying to keep everyone busy and getting pulled in every direction, and don't get to take enough time to spend eating a proper lunch due to the time constraints, so those days I take a shake or protein bar to have. I know that I need to do better.

The almost 6 week post op visit!

Dec 21, 2007

Soooo... I went yesterday for the 6 week check up and was a few days shy of 6 weeks really because of the holiday. I am pleased with my progress so far. Sometimes I feel like this is a dream..me.... not wanting to eat everything in sight.... Doc said I was down almost 31 % of my excess body weight already, so that sounds good I weighed in at 246.1, wow under 250?? it's been a while since I have been there. My goal is to be about 150-160 since I am almost 5'10" . Lucky for me ( as I knock on wood ) I have had no problems since surgery, it has been a breeze! I do not miss food like I thought I would, even when people are eating around me, I just don't want it. People are really starting to notice that I have lost weight, I guess you can really see it in my face. I am now walking almost 2 miles a day at 6 in the morning with a neighbor, and I need to use the treadmill that I bought from my OH friend Cindy!!! LOL
My family is here now for the Christmas holiday and the house is full of presents and family and of course FOOD.

I hope that you all have a wonderful Christmas!

Christmas 2007 Season

Dec 16, 2007

'Tis the season... and boy am I tired. I hate retail this time of year, and I only work part time!! LOL
I am doing really well with all of the foods that I have tried, and boy was everyone right the denser the food the fuller I feel and for hours at a time. As long as the bites are tiny and I chew VERY well it all goes down fine and stays down!
I am getting in about 55 -75 grams of protein a day and most days all of my water, but there are some days that are harder than others. Cooking for my family has become a challenge for me, they have all been so picky, even before my surgery and now it is worse. For me the hard part is that I have no interest in eating dinner right now, so I have to force myself to cook and eat.
On the positive side of things, I have a bunch of pants that are way to big to wear so that means that I have lost inches and LBS.
I have not weighed myself in two weeks because I was becoming a slave to the scale every morning.
I have a DR. appointment for the 6 week check up coming up soon so I will update my progress then!
Have a Merry Christmas and Happy healthy New Year all!

Hi all,
I am doing pretty well, just a lot of gas that needs to go away. I was able to get in 40 grams of protein in a isopure drink yesterday, some SF jello, broth, and 32 oz of water in 24 hours. Not to bad....
Surgery was great, easy due to the drugs, LOL

I am up and walking every hour or so, trying to dispurse the gas, and able to move around pretty good. The recliner is my best friend right now and a heating pad on low for my back. Just talking it easy and sipping and walking like everyone said! You guys are the best medicine!!!
Thank you to my angel's for their support! Monica having you come down in pre-op helped me stay calm, so thank you. I hope that everyone that had the same surgery day is doing well and I hope to hear from you all soon.
