Hi~~ Just wanted to wish you ALL the best with your upcoming surgery. I'm 5 days post op and know the first couple of days are gonna be rough on you....in fact up until Saturday morning in the hospital, I couldn't believe I'd put myself thru such hell (nose tube, IV, etc). The soreness hasn't been a big issue for me yet---liquid or crushed ibuprofen seems to be working ok. My advice for anyone after surgery: as soon as the doc/nurses give you leave to walk, do as much of it as possible. It'll get you home quicker. Lord bless you and keep you as safe & comforable as possible.

I am a 32 year old mother of 3. I have struggled with my weight for the last 10 years. I always said that if I ever got big enough to have the surgery then I definetely would have it. I am 5'5 1/2" and weigh 230#, I know that doesnt sound like a lot but when all my teen years and early 20's I was 120# or less it feels like alot. I went to the seminar that Dr.Jones had on August 3, 2001 and my consultation was scheduled for the 27th. He agreed to send a letter to my insurance company and then we waited. It only took about 2 weeks to hear from them and it said that they did not require precertification on this type of surgery and that they would decide whether or not they would pay after I had the surgery and all the medical records were sent. Not very reassuring but it helped with my downpayment. I also found out that instead of the 50% it usually paid now it will pay up to 90%even on gastric bypass that is IF they cover it. My surgery date is January 17,2002. Only 6 days away. I am alittle nervous but so anxious to get my life back. A friend of mine had it done in June of 2001 6 months ago and she has lost 93# and she was just 18# heavier than I am. So hopefully this time next year I will have a Life.
