Tuesday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench! ~ JudyAnne

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery! I will be praying for you, and I know you will come through surgery with flying colors. Pretty soon, you will be a big ol’ loser!! I’m not going to tell you that the first few weeks after surgery will be a bed of roses because it was pretty bad for me. I had lap RNY surgery on 5/24/05 with Dr. Von Rueden. But today, I feel fine and the only thing that I regret is that I didn’t have surgery in 2004 when I first started researching it. So, if you find that you’re having a hard time coping right after surgery, please know that it DOES get better. Don’t ever hesitate to email me if there is anything I can do for you – even if you just need a pep talk! So here’s to you… may you have a successful surgery, improved health, energy galore, many “wow moments”, and fabulous before-and-after pics! God bless! Hugs, Tracy

Well, I submitted my application to Sinai Hospital on September 23, the day before my 45th birthday. They said it would be 3 to 4 weeks before they get back with me because they have some many applications. Well, it's November 6th and I still haven't heard anything. I'll be attending my first seminar on Monday night. Too bad they only have it once a month and only during the evening. I had to switch shifts with a co-worker in order to attend the seminars. So I guess tomorrow evening I'll find out the progress of my application. My partner had the surgery 2 years ago and she will be accompanying me to the seminars. She has been very supportive and has been telling me for the past 2 years that I'm next on the table. She keeps telling me not to get desparate or discouraged that it will take a while. I've been overweight since the day I was born. I don't ever recall wearing a size 12 as a kid. Seems like I went straight to a size 14/16. My mom is a seamstress so she made all of our cloths for us --so it was even easier to eat a lot and gain the weight. My two oldest sisters are obese as well and I've been talking to them about some type of weight loss surgery. My oldest sister was saying she'd do the lyposuction --I told her that causes more trauma to your body. The second oldest, I think she has thought about it however, maybe a little afraid. Both have some level of diabetes and I'm not trying to go there. Well, to all those who know the power of Prayer --keep me there.

Thanks Wendy. On Friday, 9/23, I emailed my bariatric package to Sinai. They have a document you can download, complete and email back to them and they will contact you with an appointment date. Meanwhile, I'll have an opportunity to attend one of their seminars before my actual appointment. My partner had the surgery 10/2003 and is doing well and is standing ready to support me in every way. She keeps telling me "You're going to be so happy you decided to do this and that shopping for clothes is going to be so much fun." I've NEVER had fun shopping for clothes so we shall see.
