This is a major update to my profile! I last posted on this site back in April of this year. At that time I was waiting for a potential surgeon to receive his Center for Excellence certification, That was taking too long. So I choose another surgeion, Ajay Goyal, MD of the N,J, Bariatric Center in Union, NJ. Good choice! He and his staff are great. I've finished all my pre-op clearances save some blood work I will have done tomorrow. My surgery date of Monday, November 17, 2008! This is it! The time has come!
My starting weight when I first visited Dr. Goyal's office was 365 lbs! My doctor said he wanted me to lose 20 lbs. before I have the Gastric By-Pass procedure. Today my weight is 347 lbs. I expect to lose 5 more pounds before Monday.
It's taken me 3 years to decide to undergo this procedure. I researched the matter, talked to family and friends, and prayed on the decision. I'm convinced this is a tool that will assist me in regaining control of my life, health and future. I would appreciate your prayers and of course I will pray for the success of everyone on this site. The best is yet to come. I'm confident, it's all good. God bless you all!
