It's Been a little while but reached my first Post-Op goal, i'm
Jun 02, 2007
I am now under 300Lbs, at 298lbs as of May 27,2007. its been a journey but the weight is still coming off. It is becoming very noticeable to co-workers especially the ladys. its just so amazing how overweight people like us are discriminated against but thats life. I am doing my walking, up to 3 miles a day 3days a week and i workout 3 days a week for an hour and its really working. i'm just keeping to what the Dr and nutritionist told me about post-op nutrition. Its working well for me and i have noticed that i can eat many things but until i get to my goal i'm gong to stay on the diet that i'm on because it works for me. i will be adding tennis to my exercise routine. i rejoined a adult tennis league and will be playing singles and doubles 2 days a week. My energy is so high and of course my confidence is skyrocketing each day, i have always been a confident person this has just enhanced what i already had. well i guess i will sign out and i will be back in another month or so to update everyone. To all, keep your head up and keep the faith because He is always with you. God Bless you all
1 Month Update 320Lbs as of 04/06/2007
Apr 07, 2007
Well its one month post-op, i'm doing good. i check my weight everyday to see if i'm loosing weight as i should be. i guess its going great. I havent started working out just yet, i have about a week and a half to go before that can start but i have been walking and it seems to be working out ok. I just have been having a hard time finding out how much i should eat because sometime i can eat more than i'm surpose to i guess i need to do what the phs said and eat in one place turn off the tv and only eat, that way i will eat less in addition to that, i will be reading my post-op information again to get myself back in line with and how much i should be eating. i will not complain because i am @ 320Lbs now, i guess i think it should be more weight lost at this point but my surgeon, dr. Kuhn, called me last sautrday and said i was doing great post-op and he would see me on my one month post op check-up. Well everything is going good for me amd i look forward to updating all my OH friends next month. My goal for mext month is to be below 300Lbs, wish me luck and prayers, Until next time i'll holla
Almost 1Month Post-op, The New Loser
Apr 02, 2007
Hello everyone, its almost one month on the losing side an as of 3/31/07 my weight is 325Lbs. Everything is going good, still learning when to take my vitimins so that i dont get as tired during the day. i'm starting to get the hang of this protein thing, i'm just hoping i can keep the weight lose up so that i can get to my target goal which is actually 200Lbs. This was the weight i felt the most healthy. Family and friends are starting to see the change in me. i am as well. I was layghing yesterday at somethings i was able to do for myself that before i either couldn't do or had a hard time doing, like putting your foot on your other leg to put your socks on, that is something i havent been able to do in i dont know how many years. i cant weight to get below 300Lbs because its been a long time. i only have 2weeks before i can start working out. i hope i can pull it all together as far as my skin is concerned when it is all said and done. I do understand that this is a life change and I'm looking forward to the challenge. until next time take care my fellow OH members.

Hello ladys and Gents, It seem link its been a long time but its only been a week post-op. Man, those preop drugs were Off-The-Chain, man another world. I just gotta tell you this, as i was being rolled into the Operating i was telling the guys jokes as they rolling me in to the OR, i took a look at the operating table and i told Dr. Kuhn, man that table so little u gonna need to get the double wide before i can fit up there, everyone got a good laugh out of that and thats all i remeber, next thing i knew i was in recovery. My mother came here from St. louis to take care of me that first week out of surgery, manthat was a wonderful thing, i had no idea she was coming, she was awesome, i will continue my update soon, it seems that the pub library only gives 30minutees ata time, i'll be back to continue.......
Well people i'm back to continue my posting, i'm very excited to be on the loosing side now. The first two days was a blur to me, was gone so fast, i really dont recall much about the surgery day post-op, just that my mother was there by my side. i really can tell that its getting easier as the days go by and at this point i have no regrets, would do mit again. By the way, my blood pressure was normal on the day of surgery about 147 over 77, man was i glad, i was telling my mother that its actually going to happen, she was glad for me. I have been using a C-PAP machine for about a year now and friday night i sleep without it and i had dream sleep, which means i think i went into a deep sleep that i hadn't been able to do without the machine in years. i hope this is a good sign that my days with the C-PAP machine are numbered, that alone would be a major blessing to me. Dr. Kuhn is a great Dr., he explained everything to me and my mother, bedside manor is excellent, couldnt have asked for a more perfect dr for this surgery. i'm now looking forward to seeing him on my two week visit and going to the support group meeting that will meet this week. Well until next, holla @ u.....

I truly want to be a healthier me. i'm just going to relax this weekend and prepare for my blessing and new begining. i would like to say thanks to all of you for your prayers and words of encouragment. Hello my OH friends and associates, well it's been a trying last week and a half but i have made it. As of yesterday my BP is 114 over 66, perfect for surgery, thank God for my PCP and my self-discipline, it hasn'tbeen easy but this is what i'm going to need to do in the near future so i figured might as well get started now. oh, forgot to say my weight is down as well, as of yesteerday, 02/27/07, my weight is 350 lbs. Hello out there, i'm ted, i have been thinking about this surgery for about a year now but got really serious about it close to the end of 2006. i have various problems with my health, High BP that i take meds to control, just last year was informed that i have severe sleep apnea and now sleep with the aid of a c-pap device, which works great, i can finally get some rest. My PCP informed me that my cholesterol was a high again and that he would wait until my next visit before putting me on meds again for that, we hope it wil go down before my next visit with me trying to control what I eat and i am given it a try. I went to the informational seminar at Baylor Hospital in Dallas Texas. It answered a lot of questions for me. After going to the presentation i decided to go ahead and have the roux-en-y surgery and i am just now about to began the process. I have a appointment with Dr. Kuhn and his staff on 01/24/07 to begin the pre op evaluation and what ever else is a part of that. I am somewhat nervious about the aspect of surgery, but i'm more nervious about if i dont do this. i just want as much information as i can get to make sure i dont miss anything and to be fully informed, so i am wide open to anyone that can give me any information, until next time later.....i will holla back after my evaluation tomorrow.
