Being noticed!

Jul 13, 2009

Hi all:

Today, I heard some good news.  I saw a former college classmate and the first thing that he said when he saw me was, "Are you working out?  It looks like you have lost some weight."  I was so excited that someone is finally noticing the pounds come off.  It felt really good to be noticed.

June 29, 2009 - Hangin in there..trying to overcome my plateau.

Jun 28, 2009

Well, I have hit a plateau.  I am still at 256 lbs.; however, I can tell in inches that I have lost weight.  People are starting to notice that I have lost some lbs and it feels good to have the support of my family and friends on my weight loss journey.  I must press on.  I know that my hard work and perserverance shall pay off in a few months.  If anyone has any suggestions on how to overcome a plateau I welcome your comments.  Thanks!!

June 6, 2009 Losing the pounds and taking it one day at time.

Jun 06, 2009

Well, it has been over two months since I had my lap band surgery and I am definitely losing the pounds and taking it one day at time.  My pre op weight on 03/23/09 was 277 lbs and as of 06/06/09 I am now at 256 lbs.  Yea me!   I have lost a total of 21 lbs.  I have had 2 lap band adjustments and making progress to my goal of 150 lbs. lost by my 40th birthday on 04/18/2010.   I am really proud of myself and glad that I had the surgery.  I had been so frustrated trying to lose the weight on my own.  I feel that having the lap band surgery was a good choice for me because I am seeing results and feeling better about myself day to day.  I haven't had any complications and since the surgery I have learned to only eat until I feel satisfied and I am trying to make sure that I get in 60 grams of protein per day.   I hope to load some more pictures soon, as I lose along the way.
