Approved!!!!!

Mar 17, 2008

YIIPPEEEE!!!        I'm approved!        Got a call from Crystal to inform me at 901am!  I was so excited!  If I hadn't been in the Wal-Mart check out lane, I think I would have done the happy dance right there!!  My insurance was so quick to approve me!!  (They've been awesome so far!!)  I have to meet with Corinne on April 8th at 8am (this was already scheduled as a follow up) to go over post-op stuff again.  Then, at 1pm, I go in to meet with Dr Loggins and the crew again (I assume I'll be signing consents and stuff.)  At 230pm, I have to go for my pre-admission testing!  WOW!! What a busy day that will be.  I think I'll just take the day off from work and get all this stuff done!  Surgery will be on April 14th.  I'll have to call the Friday before to get a time.  I am so excited!!       The rest of my healthy life awaits!!!!!!! Bring it on!!!!!  I'm ready!!!!!!!!!

Insurance................YUCK!

Mar 13, 2008

I got a call from Crystal today and all my info has been sent to the insurance company.  I called the insurance company myself (silly that I am) and just verified that it was there!  Of course, it was!  They said that they have up to 15 days to send a decision but that it usually doesn't take that long!  I hope it's by Monday!  WOW...I like to rush things don't I??  I can't wait to hear!

It's a go!

So the team said "YES"!  YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!     Now I just have to wait for the insurance approval!  Hopefully we have all the info they want!
I can't wait!

Team meeting

Mar 10, 2008

So, Kim tells me that I am on the list for Tuesday's team meeting.  Hopefully everything is ok with all my pre-testing!  I'll be waiting anxiously for the phone call to let me know if they approved me or not!

Light at the end of the tunnel?

Mar 07, 2008

Ok, so I talked to the GI Doc's office again today. At 930am, they told me they still hadn't had time to look for my notes/chart and they'd call me back once they had time.  So, at about 345pm, I got a call that they found some notes that Dr L's office was cc'd and that I should have gotten a copy of them also.  (If I had, then this all would never have happened! DUH!)  So, she said they would fax them to Dr L's office again and I requested they fax me a copy too.  I called Kim and asked her to let me know if they ever recieved the fax...we'll see what happens there. But, I did get my copy of the notes, which don't say much at all (go figure!).  I'll hand deliver a copy to the office Monday morning and hope that I'm not too late for Tuesday's team meeting!  Hope there's enough info in the notes to give Dr L the info he needs.  Keeping my fingers crossed!

Thanks to everyone for your kind words of encouragement, prayers, and thoughts!  It has really helped!!!

So Frustrating!!!!!!!

Mar 06, 2008

Another day in paradise!   I called Crystal today to see if my medical record had everything it needed in it.  I had asked all the consulting MD's to please fax copies of results to the office, but you know how that goes!
So....I was missing my ABG's, EKG, pap, mammogram, all the notes from my cardiac workup and results from the GI consult.  Crystal was awesome on the phone and was able to pull up and print all the reports she hadn't recieved yet from the CMMC logician system, except for the GI consult notes.  So, I told her I'd get in touch with the GI doc's office and have the report faxed over ASAP.  (I confirmed that the team is meeting next Tues and the report needs to be there by Monday or I'll have to wait another week...YIKES!)  So, I called the GI doc's office and was told that my appointment was ONLY a week and a half ago and their transcriptionist is really far behind and I'll just have to wait until they get around to it.  So.....I was sooooooo peeved!  The lady on the phone knew it too so she pulled my record and told me that they would fax it as soon as it's done. In the meantime..............I wait some more.
Maybe I am trying to rush things too much, but, I hate being left at the mercy of people who don't really care. It's not their life or health that is waiting!  So, wish me luck and say a little prayer that that doc's office can get on the ball for me!   Thanks!

My Journey

Mar 05, 2008

So this all started during my physical on Dec 6, 2007.  I've been needing to lose weight for a long time...as long as I can remember..but never thought that I would qualify for WLS.  The weight loss yo-yo just kept going and goin for me, so my PCP agreed that a referral was in order.  I first saw Dr Loggins and his team on dec. 20, 2007.  Since then.....I've been through every test you can imagine and been treated for what seems like everything....h.pylori, anemia, deficient Vit D, sleep apnea, colonoscopy, EGD, and all the "routine" blood work and tests that everyone else has to go through.  I've met and exceeded my pre-surgery weight loss and am exercising my body like there is no tomorrow.  So far, so good. I've met with Corrinne twice (second visit was today) and she has "signed off" for me to have surgery.

So....now I wait........the team has to approve me.  Then, the insurance has to approve me!  Then.................tada.......I'll have a date with Dr Loggins and company at CMMC!   I CAN'T WAIT!!!

The rest of my healthy life awaits.................
