-What can I say.....a long line of "Big Italian Women". You should see the kitchen on holidays. I have always enjoyed filling the kitchen with great dishes and desserts for the holiday. Always a reason for cakes, cookies and treats.

Life changes at 40 in this family. Like a curse "diabetes"! I was slim my entire life and grew up with plump Aunts, Maw-Maw's, and my Mom all refusing to eat healthy with diabetes. I ate what they ate and we enjoyed all the holidays. Each one warned me about my eating habits as they slipped a piece of cake. I even had my daughter at the age of 25 and lost every pound. Then 11 years later. Big Surprise!

I had my late life toy a son and I hit the big 40 and I was diagnosed with Insulin Resistant. I tried diet after diet.....loose a pound gain a pound. Loose ten pounds and get a ticket to eat all weekend. It was to the point that I hated to shop, social functions I just hated! Me.....the person that loves people!

I enjoyed every minute with my daughter and I was always the fun active Mom. My poor son..... I cannot keep up with the rat race. My mind wants to go skating with him but.....I stand on the side and clap for him. If I keep up this life style I will not be here for him! Pick the movies - so I can sit down instead of a day at the Zoo walking in the sunshine. Blue Bayou no way!

That is so unfair to him. Time to make a change. My husband is healthy and I want to be there too.

Praying my surgery goes well October 22nd. I am so ready..........
