Went to my post op appt yesterday.  Staples out, everything else looked good and I was down 21 lbs from normal weight.  16lbs since day of surgery. 

Only issue I have is just being tired and not having the stamina I'm used to. 

My recovery is going well.  Got out the hospital yesterday (Monday) and took it easy.  Today I walked, ate alittle, drank alot and feel pretty good.  I  have a few work related things to do tomorrow so I'm hoping to feel even better.  Have been off all the pain pills since I left the hospital.  Except for getting out of bed I have been very blessed.  It still hurt to get up since I have one of those high Rice beds. 

Ohh.... Had a long talk with my Brookie (11 yr old) Thursday night before surgery and finally figured out why she was soooo upset about this surgery.  She apparently watched DR 90210 (or something like it) and was convinced she would not even reconigize me when I got home and all she could envision was big chucks of my body being put into a bowl,weighed and thrown in the trash.    I explained that was "Plastic surgery" (no I did not tell her I may do that next yr lol) and that this was different.  I would look just the same.   She spent the weekend with our friends in Atlanta at Ga Tech game (she wanted to wear her Ga sweatshirt in protest... my child is a trip!)  So I did my best to keep her busy and away from me until I looked better.  She is fine now and very thoughtful and careful when she hugs,me.

I cannot believe that Monday is almost over and in 4 days I will be having this surgery.  I am excited mostly at this point.  I wish it were next Monday and I was out of hospital and feeling good.

Ya'll please pray for me.  I am not scared of anything except the possibility of leaving my kids without their mom.  I can handle the pain and anything else that comes my way.

Did all my preliminary registration and blood work yesterday.   WOW...  Feels more real everyday.  

Today I went and bought some different protein drinks at GNC to see which ones I like most. 

Made arrangements for my kids for the Friday (surgery day) and the weekend.  My mom will step in after they leave cheerleading practice on Sunday.. They have alot of activity so I am working hard to get it all set up so there is no stress while I try to recover.

Maybe I should have started posting here earlier....  I am 12 days out from having surgery (Oct 24th).  I am on the liquid diet right now UGH.  It is worth it though.   My oldest daughter and my mom are excited for me. My 11 yr old is mad.  She does not understand WHY I am doing this....  Keeps saying I am not fat.  Helloooooo 280lbs...  Gotta love those babies. My 9 yr old is oblivious to it all.  She will be the one at school whose clothes do not match the week after surgery..lol. My oldest daughter is 21 and she needs to have this done as well... She maintained a great figure in high school due to all the sports she did but college has not been as physical and the lbs are piliing on.  I almost cried when I saw her weight recently.  My hubby is great.  He is supportive and loves me no matter what.  He is a "gym rat"so he is excited that I may actually want to work out with him soon...  My momhad this surgery 12 yrs ago and is a size 8 still so that is great verification to me that it will work for me.

Anyway,loving supportive family and ready to go...  It can't happen fast enough for me.
