Hi Eliz, This is Gwyn Nevils in Kansas City, Ks. It appears you and I are on the same road. I too am 53 years old and a Sistah. I had my surgery (open Rny) on June 9, 2003. My start weight was 254 lbs. As of today I am down to 214 lbs. I don't know it that slow or not, but at least it is coming off. We did not gain this weight over nite and it will take over nite to get it off. WE CN DO THIS. Keep pressing on and you will make it. I can be reached at [email protected]. I look forward to hear from you, God Bless......

Hi Elizabeth :) Congrats on your weight and inches lost! I read your profile, and hmmm... Hopefully you are no longer doing the sugar in your coffee if you are dumping? I used to LOVE TONS of sugar in my coffee and have since been using Splenda. Also, DaVinci Syrups are GREAT in coffee :) My favorite is the vanilla and caramel combined in my coffee :) Wishing you the best!

Don't undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others, It is because we are different that each of us is special. Don't set your goals by what other people deem important, Only you know what is best for you. Don't take for granted the things closest to your heart Cling to that as you would your life, for without them life is meaningless. Don't let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past or the future. By living your life one day at a time, you live all the days of your life. Don't give up when you still have something to give Nothing is really over … until the moment you stop trying. Don't be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect, It is the fragile thread that binds us to each other. Don't be afraid to encounter risks, It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave. Don't shut love out of your life by saying it's impossible to find. The quickest way to receive love is to give love. The fastest way to lose love is to hold on too tightly, And the best way to keep love is to give it wings. Don't dismiss your Dreams. To be without dreams is to be without hope. To be without hope is to be without purpose. Don't run through life so fast that you forget where you've been, But also know where you're going. Life is not a race, but a journey to be savored every step of the way.

Elizabeth Hello~~~just read your post and know how you feel. My hair was thin to begin with and about 4 months out, I was really going bald!! I started to use a protein shake called Real Meals and cut my hair really short. Now my hair has grown back and I like it very short--always wore it should length. You have such a beautiful face and smile. Try adding more protein and see what happens. Good Luck and may all your dreams come true!!
