"The surgeon that was originally scheduled to do my gastric band surgery had a serious emergency and I was already prepared and waiting on the surgery gurney. So his partner, Dr. Ali Elhorr, introduced himself and after a brief conversation, I gave the go ahead to proceed with surgery. His staff is very competent with medical file transfers, scheduling and what ever else was needed. Since I was 120+ miles away from Detroit, I did not visit with either Doctor prior to surgery for any counceling but had plenty of literature emailed to me by various services connected with the Doctors. Harper Hospital is part of Wayne State University which is a teaching hospital. Dr. Elhorr visited by himself once and then with interns the day after surgery. I was called by his partner a couple of days after I came home to see how I was doing. I am one week out from surgery and doing well. I think he is a competent surgeon and his bedside manner is great too. I will be going to their office for fills."
