6 years and 7 months post Gastric Bypass

Nov 01, 2013

Hard to believe in April 2014 it will be 7 years...Still loving my life, still sometimes hard to feel slim when I went down to 134 and now I am between 160-167 so I am full out size 10 which is still fantastic... my goal is to go back to a size 8 so I need to lose those 5-10 pounds that every normal sized woman wants to lose...lol I had an accident and have not been able to exercise so I am attributing it to that... I have become anemic and need Iron infusions every now and then...but I do feel good and know that I can get through tight spots without going around... my kids still laugh and say Mom you can get through...lol I am working at a job that I love as director of sales & marketing in a hotel I know that if I was still 300 pounds I would not have this kind of job, sad but true... I am not dating as I am too tired of constantly explaining about my extra skin, and feeling self conscious about it. I look great in clothes but ehh not so great out of it..lol it is what it is.  My hair never grew back to its gorgeous thickness.. but I am okay with it, it looks good just not the way it used it pre GB... Some days I feel fat(normal I guess) I still have sweet issues if I eat a donut I look like I am 6 months pregnant within 20 minutes and feel awful... I cannot eat rice or pasta or fried foods....but its all good....I eat alot of salades and protein, potatoe chops are ok... pop and pizza also cannot do... bread sometimes... all the healthy omega stuff gives me a very sick tummy.... Have never had a normal BM... I cannot sleep at anyones place as I am worried about the BM's I take every morning 1-2 and they are not rosie thats for sure...(sorry about being graphic) I hate that we cannot take anti inflammatories, and love the feeling of having a glass or 2 of wine and needing no more..lol. Living in Canada after having GB is difficult becasue the Dr's here have no clue how to handle us once we get sick... I told my dr no anti-inflammatories and she constantly prescribes it.. so I don't even bother any more...over all though I am happy and living a much healthier life. Thanks to Dr Kam and the wonderful staff at Barix.
