It's 2009 ...
Jan 06, 2009
Well, it's been a few weeks since I've posted... where do I begin? I guess I should let everyone know that 2008 was a great year for me. I got the RNY done in Sep 07 so had all of 2008 to feel the positives from it. It took me about 9 months to really get to where I wanted to be and then my family and me moved to Germany in August. When I first arrived in Germany I became very sick. A couple of rides by ambulance and a few hospital visits in between I was finally diagnosed with Giardia. I lost so much weight.. it was pretty gross to say the least. I got down to 114 pounds and have been able to put a few pounds back on so I don't look like skin and bones. I don't ever want to feel like that again... thank God for strong antibiotitcs.Like I said, we live in Germany now and we are loving every minute of it. We all went to the Zugspitz mountain for the Christmas holiday... Zachary (my son) wanted to snowboard. Although I didn't snowboard because of a bad knee... my husband, Dan, and Zachary had a great time. I had fun snuggled by the fireplace reading a good book. It truly was relaxing.
We spent the New Year with friends and it was a great time. A year ago I would have never gone out... ANYWHERE. I would have made up some sort of excuse of why I couldn't go. I always made up an excuse. Now I don't do that.... I am a much happier person and much healthier too.
Sometimes I go off track like everyone else... but I'm always able to get back on the wagon. I'm loving life and definitely don't want to look the way I used to. Yuck!
I'm down 88-90 pounds... and have gone from a size 18 to a size juniors 3. Life can't get any better than this.
I hope your weightloss journey is a great one.... and 2009 brings you as much happiness as 2008 brought to me.
Hugs,
Judy
