It has been too long...had to regroup my thoughts.

Mar 01, 2011

Hey Everyone, it has been too long and I have had to stop and regroup my thoughts.  My father had cancer in stage four, congestive heart failure, and passed away back in October 21st, 2009. With me being an only child I stepped up and seen about my mom. What a shock it was to have to get all the funeral arrangements taken care of. More shocking was all the paperwork you have to go through when filing for insurances. Wow, never had to go through that before.
Mom is doing the best she can. She is very reluctant in doing anything. Her and dad were married 65 years so being alone was a step she has had to face. Reality hurts us so bad. But with God's help we have to take it one small step at a time.

My husband Wes has been in and out of the hospitals with his blood disease and his pancreus has been severely inflammed and his entire espohagus was in blisters and ulcers. He is having a hard time as well. Lord Jesus reach down and touch us, show us the right path to take, help us to make the right decisions, touch us and heal our bodies.

I have struggled a lot lately. I have gained 10 lbs and am so afraid I will start gaining my weight back. Today I am going to try and abide by the pouch rules again and change my behavior. I honestly had relaxed and taken up some old habits of drinking during and between meals..............so I have to regroup my behavior and take charge again.

If you have any words or wisdom for me please email me. I am open to your comments and what has worked for you that might help me as well. Life is so complicated at times. We have to keep doing the best we can and continue on........

Yea, Fall is on the way

Aug 28, 2010

WOW,  made it through the HOT summer and it was terrible here in Alabama. Temps were up in the high 90's -107 I am so ready for fall and the cooler weather. My family is doing the best we all can. Dad has cancer and he is not well at all but doing the best he can. Mom is hanging by the threads as well. Wes has his ups and downs but he is  doing best he can.
I had a real scare August 16th. I woke up and could not walk or move my hands. My RA had frozen every join in my body and Wes had to take me to ER. I was given a large dose of steroids to get my joints moving again and I have been placed on them every other day to keep my mobility going.
If you know of someone else on this write me about it please.  Happy Fall and enjoy the leaves and cooler weather.

Almost 4 years and doing great

Aug 09, 2010

Hey Everyone,

Summer is here and it is HOT in Alabama. I am ready for Fall to get here. Fall is the best time of the year. Warm during the day and cool at night. My weight is holding it's own. I generally stay within a 8 lb range now. Depending on how much I exercise or how much I take in.
Remember to always chew, chew, chew your food. I found myself slipping back into an old habit of not chewing enought the other day. Drink plenty of fluids to keep your system flushed out.
My family is so so............Wes is hanging in but going down the hill, my dad with cancer is really going down the hill and mom she is right behing both of them.
I just ask God to watch over us all and take care of us. To give us him hand of health, mercy, and love. I have found myself just working on each day now and making the best of it I can. What about you? How do you cope with life and everyday circumstances?

Jan 13, 2010

Hi,

I am now over 3 years out and still keeping my weight off. Going from a size 26 to a 14/16 has been a GOD sent blessing.
I killed my first 6 point buck and have posted pictures here if you care to see.
My father is still in remission with his cancer at this time. He will be 87 if he makes it to October of 10. I finally killed a deer while hunting with him. What a God sent blessing it was.
My husband is still sick and not doing well. Continue to pray for him.
I ask that God will guide each person that reads my post and that they will continue to loose what they need to regain control of your body. I am living proff that RNY saves your life.

If I can help you write me at [email protected]

UpDate for Fall

Sep 20, 2009

Hello Everyone,
I am find and doing well. Life is going good for me. My hubby has been sick lately. He is in and out of the hospital with his battle with his Hemochromatosis. My Dad is hanging in their with his cancer. Mom and I are just the caretakers of our men and ourselves.
Thank God for all his blessings he has provided for me and my family with. I have a new job at Auburn University Medical Clinic and I am really loving it so far. I am getting use to their ways and programs on the computer and they are all getting use to me as well. So I feel happy and blessed.
What is going on with you? Have you kept your weight down? Are you takeing your vitimins? That is really important. Since it is almost flu time we need to remember to take the vitimins and extra vitimin C to rev up the imune system.
Write and take care of yourself.

God is good All the time and ALL the Time My God Is Good to me.

Each of us  have battles we go threw. Every day each of us grown by learning. Only threw the grace of God can we get threw those battles. No matter how small or large  our battle is - We all need to just take it one day at a time, one step at a time and let God come into our lives.
My family continues to be having trials. My Dad with his Cancer, my husband with his blood disease, and me and mom are just the caretakers. God seems to be us on our daily journey. He carries us threw on the days we need his help and takes care of us. We all seem to face our daily battles and I just stop long enought to ask for his help to get me threw the rest of the moment, the hour, and the day, or week. Life changes as you grow in age and mind and you seem to look at your life different. I know I have at least and I hope that you are on the same course as myself.

May God Bless each of you and take care. My weight is still staying stable between a 5-8 pound up and down so I am thankfull for that.
I will turn 54 next month on the 14th of June -  so God be with me and keep me looking better.   Keep up your strength and longivity by makeing certain you take your daily vitimins each day.

Hello Everyone,
Well summer is almost here for us to enjoy. My Dad has been in and out of the hospital with his Lymphoma and 104 degree fever. He is 85 and has been taking his chemo since we found out he is in stage4 with his cancer.
Just to make sure I don't have it I went ahead and had the bone marrow test done on me. I am the only child Mom and Dad has alive.
Wes, my husband has been back to UAB to see more doctors with his blood disease. Hemochromatosis has now affected all his major organs includeing his heart. He was given 3-5 years 2 years ago and we are just praying that God will lay his healing hand on him and my Dad and just heal  both of them.
I am doing the best I can and hanging in their. Since I was involentaryily terminated from my job I have been looking for another joy so everyone continue to hope for me.
Take care and keep us in your prayers.

April 16, 2009 Update

Apr 03, 2009

Weight Loss Surgery is the best surgery I have ever had in my life. What a difference it has made in my life.
I no longer have to take diabetic meds or prick my fingers. I no longer have to sleep with a c-pap machine (thank you Lord for that wonder).
I am able to walk in a store and not stop every few minutes to get my breath. I am able to sit with my legs tucked under my bottom in the lazy-boy.  I have went down 10 sizes in clothes and lost a total of 130 lbs and keep it off all this time.
I do try to live healthy and maintain my weight loss........I try to be alert of what I eat and drink.
..............Stupid thing the other day.....My husband wanted a Milkshake so we went to McDonald's and got us both a Vanilla Milkshake........BIG---MISTAKE...............BIG Mistake..........tore up my stomach to the max. I learned NOT to drink another one.
Other than that same old * same old* stuff going on.  Happy Spring to Everyone. Just got my hair cut short again so I am ready for the bike weather now. Will get new pictures on here sometime this summer.
