One Year Post Op
Apr 11, 2008
It has been one year. I have submitted some new photos. I don't work out as much as I should. I don't go out as much as I should, but darnit, I feel great. The medical records look great. I can eat pretty much everything I was able to eat before, but just not alot at one time. I CAN TOLERATE SUGAR...but not in large doses. I think I lost too much being 5 8 and 155, but I'm told I'm right on target. Considering my highest weight was 360 and i'm over 200 lbs smaller, 130ish since surger,it is nothing short of a miracle. My self esteem is sky high, though I sometimes still think like a big girl. People who know me of course use "oh you're gonna blow away" which pisses me off, but people are always going to have something to say. I did lose a few of my "big girl" friends. They didn't like hanging with me as much anymore....sad. However, i feel like a million bucks, and If I could do it all over again...would I...uh DUH!!!!!! :-)
NECTAR - 2 thumbs up for choice in protein. I use the Roadside Lemonade and mix it with lemonaid koolaid sweetened w/ splenda! It beats muscle milk and iso puke! lol

Life is unbelievable. I am now 3 months post op and down 50 lbs. My energy is up like 200%. I play with my daughter more than ever, I can dance without getting out of breath! I CAN RIDE THE ROLLER COASTERS. All bloodwork is fine.....life is great. The mini gastric bypass was the best thing I have ever done in my life!!!!!!
2 weeks Post Op
Apr 27, 2007
Well I am officially 2 weeks and 1 day post op from the Mini Gastric Bypass. Surgery was great. It is too early to say if I will do it 10 times over again etc. The hospital I went to was Great, the doctors were GREAT! He called me at home to make sure I was doing ok.
I did have a complication, but it was sort of my fault. I flew into Texas from Norfolk and then from Texas back to Norfolk. Well I got stuck in Houston....for a long tme. First the flight to LaGuardia was postponed 3 hours....then another 2 hours, then it was cancelled. I was sitting in an airport, in slight pain, and in great misery, because I just wanted to go home and lay down for a minute. The bad thing was that was the first time I flew, and I didn't have my medicine with me....it was in my bag because I assumed I'd get home in time to take it. I went 15 hours without an antibiotic and one of my ports started to swell....it was the worse feelingin the world. I also started to leak....a foul smell. No help from the airport though.
I was luck enough to find a manager, who smelled me, and for free, switched my ticket to go to Ragan airport Washington DC. I then had a 4 hour drive back home. Well the weather was so bad at Ragans, that we had to be diverted to Dullus. My friend is 1/2 hour away at Ragans, with a cell phone that doesn't work outside of Virginia. I was absolutely miserable. One of the pilots who remembered me trying to get home, was kind enought to pay for a cab for me to go to Dullis.....$58.00 for a 30 minute drive. YIKES! I was suppose to be back home by 12 on Sunday. I didn't make it home until 2pm on Monday.
So that part of my adventure is what I HATED HATED HATED. I will never forget the kindness of that one Continental pilot. If I had stayed and waited for the correct flights, I wouldn't of made it home until Wednesday. SUCKS!!! I was able to retrieve my luggage to get my meds. Then it was lost. I didn't get my bag until a week later. The weeks were broke, and so were a few of the souveniers inside. I vow not to fly again....at least for a while.
Now the weight loss part. Yeah...I've lost quite a bit
I was in a tight 20, now I am in a loose 18
I started at 274, now I am 243 as of yesterday.
I am 5 8 in height.
It is the weight loss part that I am exicted about. I don't have alot of energy, but I know it is my fault I try to get my protein shakes in, but I gag, gag, gag. The gatorade stuff is NASTY as well....but I know that I have to deal with it!
