My appeal was filed on May 15th, and then resubmitted on May 16th, with confirmation from Jan, the supervisor of the appeals department. That same night I ended up in the emergency room with pain in my right upper quadrant.
They have now decided that I have multiple gallstones and that my gallbladder needs to come out. So while I have an appeal in with my insurance company, I am looking at having to have surgery to have my gallbladder out... I am hoping that this will not cause issues with my appeal!!
Waiting anxiously for general surgery AND tricare to get back to me!

On May 7th I found out that I had been denied my abdominoplasty based on lack of medical necessity. I am quite disappointed, but I am not going to let it get me down. I am going to appeal.
Hurry-up and WAIT!!!!

On the 25th I saw the plastic surgeon. His office has submitted for pre-authorization on the 26th. Now I am simply waiting for the insurance to give a response.
The plan for my reconstruction is to do a 360 abdominoplasty, and a breast augmentation - with a breast lift on one side. These procedures should be done in one session.
