Hugh Babineau

"My first impression of him was that he was very young. But I think that he knows what he is doing and I feel comfortable with him. His office staff is THE BEST! I dont think you can find any nicer people. He has a good aftercare program. He requires you to come back for several post op visits and reccomends that you see either him or another doctor knowledgeable about WLS at least once a year for the rest of your life. He took time to explain the risks and benefits of the surgery. He was very patient with answering everyones questions as well. I would rate him a 10! At 18 months post op, Im still impressed with Dr Babineau and his office staff. Ive not had any problems since my surgery at all. I owe Dr Babineau my life and thank God for him everyday!"

"I highly recommend him. I will definetly be using him for anymore reconstructive surgeries I need. Hes very serious but once you get to know him hes really funny. Hes not here to make you be on the cover of Playboy, hes here to do his best and restore your body back to normal. Hes only going to do what is best for you. But beware...he does get online and read profiles!! Of course theres nothing bad to say so it doenst matter...:)"

"Hes the only doctor who has ever tested me for different things and not just told me to eat less. "

East Texas Medical Center Tyler

"The nurses were all very NICE....except one who tried to take away my pains meds. She tried to convince me that the pain medicine(Tylenol 3) was going to slow down my recovery. Who cares? It made me quit hurting for 10 minutes. ANYWAYS, its just that they didnt really do anything for me. They would come in the morning, take my vitals, and tell me to walk 3 times that day and use my spirometer every two hours. Then they wouldnt come back to my room for several hours. They dont know if I walked or used my spirometer at all. I did, but only because my mom was there to make me. Anytime I needed some medicinge or whatever, I would call them and they responded quickly and were very friendly but I just felt like I was there to take care of myself and they were there to give my medicine. Also, they never offered me juice or popsicles or broth or ANYTHING! We had a list of food I could have each day and my mom would just go get whatever I wanted. If Mother Francis would have had the self-pay discount, thats where we would have went. Not that ETMC was bad, but we have just always used Mother Francis so we were familiar with it. The whole experience at ETMC wasnt bad, just different. The only advice I could give anyone is to make sure you have someone with you because you are gonna need someone to help you because you are not going to want to call the nurse everytime you get thirsty, or want a popsicle, or need to get up to go to the bathroom.
