Complication - Sudden Loss of Restriction
Nov 30, 2009
11/16/2009 - Onset of major martial related stress, band became very very tight for several days. Unfortunately, I had a few drinks and smoked a pack of cigarettes during this period of stress. I had quit smoking April of 2008.11/20/2009 - Woke up and had sudden loss of restriction although I didn't even realize it at first. Had coffee and my protein shake, then at around 10:30 am I had a cheese snack which went down VERY EASILY. At around 1:30 I had tuna salad wtih crackers and was able to eat quite a bit more than normal. I also had some reflux, mainly coughing at night and a little acid taste in the back of my throat during the day. Otherwise, no symptoms. I am able to eat rather quickly, don't have to worry about chewing and can eat quite a bit more than I ever have since having surgery.
11/22/2009 - Went to doctor, had a little unfill.
11/24/2009 - Went to doctor, had complete unfill because I had a little reflux still and it still didn't feel right. I am able to eat rather quickly, don't have to worry about chewing and can eat quite a bit more than I ever have since having surgery.
11/30/2009 - Had upper GI today. Radiologist said it looked normal. Radiologists assistant said that it looks like my band is above my stomach around my esophagus.
I have an appointment with my surgeon on Thursday and he will read the films. I really must say that I don't trust either of the radiologists opinions. I guess I have to wait and see.
Will try to post pics of the UGI.
