Pirate Festival...Arrrr!

We went off to Olcott Beach for the beginning of the Pirate Festival tonight. It was fun to go with my husband, our 3 daughters, 3 year old granddaughter, 2 week old grandson and daughter's boyfriend. I did miss my 8 year old grandson Shane but he is off to Florida to spend a month and 1/2 with his Daddy. This was my first real outing since surgery and I actually had a great time and my stomach only hurts a bit.

I was a bit nervous to see how I would be around all the delicious carnival/festival food. I am happy to say I didn't have a problem. The only thing that tempted me a little were some BBQ baby back ribs and wine tasting! I didn't want to spend the $10.00 for the ribs and I was too scared to try wine so soon! I was satisfied with my bottle of water!

Right now I seem to be losing a pound a day. I know that won't continue but I am certainly enjoying it for as long as it lasts! Both my older daughters told me that they see I have lost weight. I really don't although I see the scale going down. I will be taking measurements on Monday...I plan to measure every two weeks. I was going to only weigh once a week but I can't seem to walk by the scale each morning without stepping on it!

I am now eating soft foods...so far so good. I will try meat on Monday as per Mark's suggestion. I bought some unflavored protein powder to mix in foods that don't naturally have a high protein content. It was OK in mashed potatoes.I tried it in my nightly milkshake instead of my usual double strength milk and I couldn't drink more than a couple sips without feeling queasy.  I went back to my usual recipe tonight which has 37 grams of protein anyway. It was as yummy as usual...I love sf butter rum syurp!



I have not having trouble with my vitamins but I need to figure out a way to insure that I am getting enough water. Overall I am very happy I decided to have the surgery and I can't wait for me to actually see the weight loss!
