Well surgery is over and I made it through......thank the lord. Now I have all new complaining.
I'm so sore under my rib cage. I'm
taking meds but they are only working
a little. I go see my doc on Mon May
12. I have all these (about 6) little
band aids covering little holes on my
stomach that don't hurt , but, the
stupid tape they used made my skin
red and rashy. So maybe I need some
cream.
I am very tried, trying to nap. I get
small boosts of energy. Then I walk
down the drive way (very long) and
maybe if I feel really good a bit
longer. I'm not supposed to start
excise until 4 weeks out. But walking
is good. Must be doing better because
I could not walk all the way down
drive and back without killing myself.
Now it pretty simple. Keeping the
focus!!!!

First I did alot of thinking before deciding to do this. I finally decided last year around this time to go for it.. So I went to a Seminar last January 2008. From that point I choice my doctor. Went through all my pre testing and insurance stuff. I was worried for a short time if my insurance would approve the surgery or not and it came back in four days approved, that was an exciting day! Then I went to another support group meeting at Elm brook Hospital. I really like those support groups there is alot of really nice people there and I have made some friends.
Now I am doing my 2week Liquid diet. Right now I'm on my 5th day and I have to say it's pretty rough, but I'll make it through.
Pre OPP DOC APPT
Went to see Dr. Engstrand today he explained more of the surgery to me in detail, I'm a little scared, but trying to hang in there. I feel a little emotional. Kind of like I'm getting ready to move from a close friend or leaving something behind. It's kind of a scary feeling.
I'm low on vitamin B12. May have to take it the rest of my life or shots even.
OH speaking of shots I have to give myself a shot of lovnox 12 hours before my surgery.....Oh man I have never liked needles...don't know how this is going to go over...I'll have to wait and see
