I am 40 years old, and have been overweight for as long as I can remember. At least 20 yrs.  I have wanted to have surgery for the past 6 years, but have not had good insurance until now.  I have a new job with awesome insurance, and I know they cover surgery. I am going to an informational meeting at the end of Aug, and will hopefully be able to start my journey. I have 2 children, and I want to be able to do things with them.
I work in a hospital, in the OR, so I see what happens to people who dont take care of themselves, and the problems that all this excess fat can cause.  I currently work for Centura Health and I know the RNY is covered (it was specifically mentioned in the benefits book) so now I just need to find a Dr and get the ball rolling.

Here are a list of reasons that I want this surgery, in no particular order.
1. To be healthier- I hate that I have no energy (VERY IMPORTANT)
2. To be able to do things with my kids - I am afraid to take my daughter to an amusement park since I cant go on any rides
3. I have high cholesterol, and pain in my back, knees and feet way to much
4. I want to be able to fit into the scrubs at my hospital - I wear the biggest size they have and sometimes they are very tight
5. I want to be able to travel and have fun and go on vacation
6. I want people to "see me"

I weigh 281 right now, (and that is the first time i've ever told anyone who doesnt work in a Drs office).
