Vicki~ The camera thing IS a big deal! I feel the same way....for so many years I would hide whenever anyone had a camera in their hand. I realized a few weeks ago that, you know what? I don't look so bad in pictures anymore! What a great feeling! I'm still extremely modest and refuse to let anyone photograph me without the hair and makeup, LOL, but it's getting better! LOL And incidentally, you look fabulous & are SO very photogenic!!!! Congrats on your wonderful success ~ Open RNY 1/3/03 330/197/175

Hey Vickie ~ I agree with you about the carnation instant breakfast not having a lot of protein in it. Find a good tastless protein powder to mix in with it and you boost it up! Good luck on your journey and please keep posting. I enjoyed reading your profile... Thanks for the honesty. Not an easy thing sometimes! Keep fighting the good fight!

Hi Vicki! Consider the amount of calories you're taking in at this point post-op, and I think you can easily justify eatting Ritz crackers if they keep you comfortable. When I wasn't feeling well at the start, my nutritionist told me it was OK to eat the carbs if I could keep them down (not much else would stay down). Just keep in mind that when the losing starts to get tough, you'll have to cut WAY back on them. Congrats to you on your loss and just know that it gets better. SO MUCH BETTER! Vicki, carafate yuuuck. I had to drink that nasty stuff too. Just take it slowly and you will do fine on your pre op life. I was lactose intolerant after surgery so eating was a challenge. I couldn't even stand the smell of creamed soups and the protein shakes made me sick, but I made it. You will too. ((((HUGS)))) Wanda

Tarnished angel flying in. Vicki is still having problems. Her doctor thinks se might have an appt but I don't know if he even saw ghr or just made the assumption. I have suggessted she see a gastro doctor to be checked out. Please keep her in your prayers and lets post lots of well wishes for her. She is a special lady who really needs our help right now

Vicki, I could be mistaken, but it looks like you get pain after you eat dairy products. Is it possible you have become lactose intolerant? I would highly recommend asking your doc about it.

Glad you've called your surgeon about your eating issues yesterday. I can't pretend that I have the magic answer but I can relate to you what would have been hard on my tummy. I can't do fruit juice. I've done it sometimes successfully but more times than not, it messes me up for quite a while. Even diluted, it's just too much concentrated sugar. I hope your doctor will have some concrete information for you but I suspect the fruit juice irritated your tummy. The addition of small amounts of good protein food then sent it over the edge. Take care!
