Good news. I reach a new goal. I ran the 15K Gate River Run last Saturday. I loved that run. I ran the 15K run in 1 hour 40 minutes. I plan to run in some of the local 5 and 10K runs this summer. I will run a half marathon this October with the Marine Corps. I can hardly wait until next years River Run!

Lost a few more pounds.

I visited a nutritional specialist about 2 weeks ago. I felt I was getting off track with my diet. Not so much what I was eating, but when, how much, etc. My weight has not moved for awhile. I described a typical day and she determined that I was eating too many meals. As small as they were, they all count. My typical day includes breakfast about 0630am (Oatmeal with 1 scoop of protein powder), 2 - 3 cup decaf coffee between 0730 - 0900am, protein shake or a piece of fruit around 1000am, lunch around 1230 - 100pm, piece of fruit mid afternoon (Apple / orange), snack after work (usually hungry). I would work out around 5:30pm or so (1 hour minimum), dinner around 730pm and 1 protein shake before bedtime. That totals 8 meals. I needed to readjust my plan to include only 6 meals. It's been about two weeks now. I cut out the afternoon snack and the after work snack and made more room for fluids. I have lost 6 lbs since. Awesome. Calories in, calories out. I was in balance. Not gain, no loss. Even with all the exercise I do.

Week 46, Day 6 Post Op (Saturday)

I weighed in this morning at 172lbs. My weight fluctuates a pound or two, so no big deal. I would like to lose a little more weight. The mid 160's I would be satisfied. Now that I'm working out regularly and lifting weights, I'm not sure how that will affect my weight. I have an appointment with a nutritional counselor next month at the wellness center to get answers to some of my questions. Awesome workout this morning, high impact step aerobics. Thanks for reading.

Week 44, Day 3 post op (Wednesday)

This week, my weight fluctuates between 170lbs and 173lbs. I’m now wearing a size smaller, 32” waist pants. My 34” waist pants fit but are becoming loose. Loose skin around my abdomen, under my arms and my thighs is my only concern. If that’s my only concern, then I have no complaints. I’ll take it. I feel great!
I have strayed away from my FITDAY.COM food journal. I have been busy, but I will return to it today. I will have regular access again to the internet, so back to the old routine. That’s it for today. Thanks for reading.

Week 37, Day 6 Post Op (Saturday)
Aug 25, 2007
Week 37, Day 6 Post Op (Saturday) Today is my weekly weigh-in day. I weighed in at 174.5lbs. That's 1.5lbs weight loss from last week. Some weeks I stay the same, sometimes 3 to 4 weeks without any changes to the scale. Overall, I'm gradually continuing to lose weight. I'm getting ever so close to the 160's. WOW, I haven’t seen the 160’s since high school. As a matter of a fact, I haven’t seen my current weight since high school either. My next goal to achieve will be to get involved in a few 5K races. I wanted to run in the annual Beaches 5 mile run, but it falls on the same day as Dr. Jawads annual picnic in Ocala. I really want to go to the picnic to meet everyone, so I will attend the next race. My ultimate running goal will be to run the 9k Gate river run in March 2008.
Yesterday I met with my primary doctor for my 3 month check-up. I took my blood labs August 2nd,07. I weighed in at 178lbs (with clothes) My last visit I weighed in at 199lbs (22lb weight loss). No medications, no problems. I just need to continue using synthroid for my thyroid.

I attended a high impact step aerobic class this morning. I love step aerobics and look forward to the workout every week. Tomorrow I will attend the Sunday morning power pump class and afterwards I will attend the 20/20/20 cardio class. 20 minutes step, 20 minutes BOSU and 20 minutes regular exercise (Abs, push ups, jumping jacks, etc.) Right now I’m designing a new weight lifting workout to build and tone. It will be intense. It will be a total of twelve weeks of hard core weight lifting. I will continue my regular routine of aerobics.
