3 years out and life
Sep 09, 2013
wow, i can't believe that it's been so long since i've been on here!! so, it's been 3 years since my WLS and i feel great! life is going splendidly!! i have lost just over 100 lbs and have been maintaining the loss by eating right and exercising. i do zumba 3 times a week and just love it. i have the best instructor in the world and i have made so many wonderful friendships!! i also sometimes go to the gym with my hubby. and i try to fit in boot camp when i can. i struggle just like anyone else on what to eat, how much to eat, etc. i have learned to deal with food much better through my journey though. it isn't as hard as it once was.
on dec 27, 2012, i had a tummy tuck to remove the extra skin and fat that i had hanging from my stomach. the surgery went great and i have a fabulous flat tummy now!! i continue to work on the parts of my body that i don't love so much. i would love to get a thigh lift and a booby job, but they don't fit into my budget right now so i will just keep exercising and changing my body that way.
i hope that everyone else is doing great. i have met so many wonderful people through this journey!! it has taught me a lot about myself also! take care and keep chugging along!! life is good. :)
The stall blues...
Jun 08, 2011
i am coming off of a 3 month stall...YES, 3 LOOONNNGGGG months!! i am not sure why i stalled, but i just started to lose a few pounds this week, so hopefully that means i am back on the path to Loserville!! i don't know if my body has finally got accustomed to my eating and exercise habits or what, but being stalled for that long really sucks. every few days i would get on the scale hoping and praying that today would be the day...and it wouldn't budge! but still i kept on with my routine. and finally, i got on the scale and saw for the first time in YEARS...169!! i was finally out of the 170's which is where i was stuck for 3 long months! i couldn't have been happier. i am weighing in at 168 today and hopeful that in a few days i will be closer to the mid 160's than i am now. small milestones get me through each day.
i do think that i need to switch up my exercise routine. i Zumba 3 times a week and have seen such HUGE improvements in my body!! i have arm definition (even though i could seriously knock someone out with the batwings i have happening...lol), i am starting to sculpt my body into something better each time i put my sneakers on and wiggle my butt! and i couldn't be prouder of myself. i won a contest back in march (of course it was during my stall or it would have been more) losing the most weight in 10 wks...15.3 lbs!! i won a free year's worth of Zumba along with a bunch of other prizes!! i was thrilled! However, i think my body might need a change up of routine to get going again! i am thinking i need to add some walking in there and also, some light weights. i will let you know if it helps. also, i think i need to start eating more veggies to lighten up my meals a bit. i will also keep you posted on that.
i am quickly approaching my 1 year mark (8/9) so i will be back to post for that and post my 1 year pics.
i am down 88 lbs and it feels freaking great!! ttys!
Onederland...wootwoot!!
Dec 05, 2010
just about at my 4 month mark. started at 256 and am down to 198...58 lbs gone for good! c ya!!
thought thanksgiving would have been hard with all of the food, but surprisingly enough, it wasn't. i guess i am so thankful for my new life that it was easy to put the old me behind.
on a sadder note, i just found out that my surgeon is leaving Pennsylvania and moving back to Illinois...i am heartbroken. i love dr. boe for helping me get to where i am and i will truly miss him. however, the good people of Illinois will no doubt benefit from his arrival!! best of luck Boe!!
hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season. c u in the new year!
