I have been over weight for as long as I can remember. I was always told I would get taller and thin out. Um well I'm 5'9" I grew taller but never lost the weight. I have always wanted to be smaller but couldn't keep weight off. I would lose 10 or 15lbs and slowly they would start creeping back on my. It is so sad to work so hard and to lose so little. It's hard work! I have been looking into having WLS for a few years. I was too lazy to start the process. I decided in October of 2008 it was time to do something about this. A lady at work had RNY 9/2008 and she was very supportive of me doing it and gave me all the phone numbers needed to call and do this for me so I did. I scheduled a date for the info session and decided that night in November I AM DOING THIS. I turned in my application in January and started my 6 month work up in February. My last appointment was July 1st and I met with my surgeon on 7/30/09. I was approved on 8/4/09 they submitted my paper work to cigna on 7/31/09. I was very pleased that I was approved so quickly. The lady at my work was denied her first time and she was a diabetic. She had to appeal and was approved after that. I look forward to a new me and I feel very positive that I can and WILL do this. I know I can!
