49 years old, married, with 2 girls - 21 and 16, and one very hairy boy, 4 (my dog LOL). I'm a hospice RN, and a musician, and a genealogy/history buff. Struggled with weight my whole life since about age 7 or 8. Have been thinner a couple of times for too-brief periods, but ... you all know that story. 
I've been considering weight-loss surgery for several years, but with a job change 2 years ago, I was able to have an insurance plan that will cover the surgery. I know a lot of women (most of whom I work with) who have had weight-loss surgery (mostly RNY), and there isn't ONE of them who hasn't said it was the best thing they've ever done for themselves.
