Well it has been a whole month...can you believe! I am now 241 lbs. and not satisfied. Maybe because I feel I should loose more but the doctor says everyone is different and I am doing well. Just keep following my program it will pay off in the end. I have been battling Bronchontis since surgery and I still can't get it under control which makes cardio exercise a burden. I am trying to stay motivated but right now I don't feel to successful. I guess I need to be more patient... Rome wasn't built in a day and this weight isn't melting away that fast!

I had my drain removed early...yeah! My Doctor was going out of town and he is moving his practice to another hospital. Not much weight loss but my doctor says that is okay I will start losing when I start my protein diet on Monday.

SURGERY DAY...WHOOHOO! I have been packing for days and making sure I don't miss a thing. I've been on the phone with my buddy who had surgery the previous month to gain any inside knowledge as what to expect as well as paying attention to the BAF board. The surgery itself was uneventful but I did have a reaction to the pain medication. I started itching like crazy the day after surgery and the nurses continued to give me the pain medication (even after I told them I wasn't in pain). Finally my doctor did rounds on morning Two. By that time my blood pressure had bottomed out at 88/66 and the doctor told them don't give me any more pain meds. My release was delayed till late afternoon when my bloodpressure finally elevated to 100.

Started my 10 day liquid diet today. Boy what an awakening! I can smell food on the TV and everywhere I go it seems there is food. I have to keep telling myself to take this challenge one day at a time. I am counting the days until my rebirth February 13th. That also marks the birthday of my favorite aunt who passed away 15 years ago due to co-morborbidities. She was a major influence in my life and she will be in my heart and mind when my day comes.

On Tuesday, I went for nutritional counseling...my goodness, I feel like I was overloaded with information and it doesn't want to sink in. I did go home and read through the binder and mark it up immediately! Now it is time to try to pull together my shopping list, questions, and menus.

Visited Dr. C. today and got my real surgery date February 13, 2005 at 9:30 am. This is such an exciting time and yet my emotions feel like they are on a roller coaster. I am relieved and yet scared of the unknown.

12/20/05 - I received my official letter from Aetna today confirming approval of surgery. I am sorta confused because the letter says that my surgery date is 1/23/05 which is less than a month. I will see Dr. C. in the morning and he can explain everything to me. If this is true I am going to be very busy!!!

I received an email from surgeon's office this morning...I have been APPROVED! I am not exactly sure where to start except cry! I can finally see light at the end of the tunnel, I can plan a future, I can live my life...God answers prayer!!!

Spoke with Aetna today and found out that my case was actually turned in w/e 11/28 and it is pending. Keeping my fingers crossed and saying a prayer that it all comes out okay!

Went to the nutritionist today and she was ready to hear the news. Unfortunately, nothing to report!
