Down 28 pounds!!!

Jul 01, 2011

Wow! On Wednesday I had my first follow-up with the metabolic doc since getting out of the hospital. I am down 28 pounds! I thought that made it worth starting this blog! LOL

So far the process has been great.  I am hoping to start swimming today since I have a pool membership for the summer instead of a gym membership! It should be fun!

I'm becoming a better cook! I really was not big on cooking before, but now I like to know whats going into the food I'm eating, so I'm practicing more.

My favorite foods so far:

Home made Pea Soup. I boil a package of frozen organic peas, a package of chopped onions, salt and pepper in boxed chicken broth for about an hour...let it cool, then put it all in the blender. I could drink this hot or cold! Love it. There's about 4g protein in a cup.

egg beaters with organic mango salsa and buffalo humus! I love humus, so finding the spicy buffalo flavor was a bonus. I scrambel the egg beaters with a slice of Kraft Fat Free American and a teaspoon of the mango salsa and use Pam for cooking. I can't eat the whole thing, but eat some and put the rest away for a snack later in the day. The whole thing has about 10g of protein.

Plain Greek yogurt with SF jam! This is really good and has about 18g protein in it.  Sometimes if I need a protein boost, I mix my chocolate protein powder with th Greek yogurt for a 36g protein serving.

All in all, its going really well and I'm loving it!
