SO Glad to be home
THAT was definitely not an easy week, nothing I hope to ever face again! I look forward to getting better, getting strength back and feeling healthy again soon.

Well this is it , what I've been waiting for.
I can't believe how calm, and relaxed I am .
The meeting with Dr. L this morning went well , very informative
The hospital called and moved my time up from 11am to 7:30am
I have decided to follow his every request and be a stellar patient...its in my best interest for a complication free successful surgery.
I better get to bed

OMG ...OMG...OMG !!!!! Sooooo happy ... HOOORAY !!
Details:
* Surgery date: Dec 2/08 at 11:00am ->Be there 2 1/2 hours before 8am
* Paperwork must be at Hospital 2 weeks prior to surgery ( Nov 17)
* Hospital to contact me 10 day prior (Nov 21)
Day before surgery---> Dr L. Appt Monday Dec 1 @ 9am

Met with Dr. L today
Very confident , professional knowledgeable/ personable and to the point !
Details of the meeting:
--> Dr. L told me to simply eat 3 meals a day starting NOW
-->NO pop ! You can have water, black:tea coffee, few carbs -->focus on meat / veg and fruit .
--> Last meal must be 3 hrs before bed.
--> Only use Tylenol (if needed) for pain this month NO aspirin/ibuprophen/motrin etc
--> Very important to walk 30- 45 minutes DAILY starting NOW
--> I need to drop 10 pounds before surgery
****After the meeting he checked me out in the examining room. He told me everything looked good and he asked Julie to go ahead and book me for surgery beginning of DECEMBER 2008...Yesssss!!!!
My partner came to the consult, Dr. L spoke to the both of us. AL asked some good questions and Dr.L was happy to answer. Good to have 2 sets of ears ( AND a strong support system.... Love you AL

Need to have my Endo fax over all recent lab work and results from the Sleep Apnea and ECG.
Dr.L requested a Bone Density test and Gall Bladder Ultra Sound both mandatory. If they find stones then my GP will need to send a letter to OHIP requesting approval for Dr.L to remove the GB. He also gave me a list of additional blood work that I'll need.
Called my GP and have appt for Monday for him to complete the lab request and get me booked for the GB UltraSpound. All results need to be in Dr. L's office 10 days prior to surgery ....run Forest RUN !
I was glad that I had done so much research on my own prior. I already knew 98% of what he had to say so it was a confirmation. I had written a few questions about vitamins / minerals and nutrition post op which he answered
I live in Windsor which is like 45 min away ...very lucky !
I printed off 7 pages of testimonials that I found on line posted by fellow OH DSers.
Dr.L comes highly regarded indeed
In the waiting room there was another woman who was there for her 1 yr checkup. She lost 167 lbs and has 20 more to go.
We talked for about 1/2 hr.
My biggest take away from her was:
1) Good chance of hair loss , in fact expect it !
Good news, its doesnt last long ....important to get in enough protein and to also add Biotin to your vitamin regime
2) She had a stall at 3 months, lasted 3 weeks ...... reason was because she was not eating enough.
Once she kicked up the protein she turned the corner and the weight dropped off fast for the next 9 months
