Today is Jan 3, Sunday.  DH and I met Dr. Greenbaum at his office and he weighed me and to my suprise I had gained 6 pounds and I just wanted to cry.  Dr. G said no biggie you are swollen from IV fluids and it will go away in few days to a week. 

He removed my feeding tube and JP drain and said I could advance from full liquids to pureed and then on to regular food by week 5.  Then he set me free to go home to FMB Florida. 

We hit the road immediately, shoowee a 21-hours drive. 

Ok, today I was discharged from hospital to hotel which sucked cause the hotel was uncomfortable for me even with 8 pillows but I will survive.  I am doing well with protein averaging 75-100 grams per day and fluids 70 oz per day.  Walking around in room as much as possible praying that he will take this feeding tube out before I leave NJ. 

OMG, now I know what it feels like for death row prisioners.  I am terrified.  All these last minute thoughts are flowing thru my head and scaring the hell out of me. 

The think is, is that I did not come this far to have a new life to give up now so here we go. 

Arrived at Hosptial 6:15 AM , Nurse took me back to little room with little bed lol and tells me to take every thing off and put on gown.  Then she comes in to start my IV and gets alittle pissy with me cause she wanted to put it in my hand and I said no my arm.  I won, it is in my arm lol.  Then I kissed my DH and went to another place were other patients were and we just looked at each other and said "what you in for" lol. trying not to cry at this point. 

This good looking nurse comes over to me and puts a little something in my IV and asked him  if that was my cocktail, he smiled and said just a little and that was were I left the map lol. 

Had to be at the Lourdes Medical Center at 6:15am for pre-op Blood work and chest x-ray.  Then NUT class with Tina Marie whom I thought did a great job but needs to have DS patient's separate from RNY.  Then off to see Dr. Greenbaum. 

He was shorter than I expected but the same man I trusted over the phone.  He paid alot of attention to detail for my DH and that made Ernie more comfortable.   So we are set now for Dec 23, at 6:15 am.

We finally arrived at our Hotel Crosslands of Maple shade in NJ.  We feel into the shower, I drank somemore liquid protien drink  and My DH Ernie got something to eat then we crashed for several hours. 

After sleeping for several hours we took dry run to Lourdes Medical Center and went to see Tiffany aka Momof2b1g (she had surgery Dec 16) that was great.  I think she will be a great friend (we met thru OH).

Ok here we go Dec 18 6:00pm on the road to NJ.  We hit Roenoke Virginia and around 5:45 PM next day and the snow came with temper.  Our family and freinds were calling with concerns that we were in the record breaking snow blizzard of 2009 but we were ok and pressed on.  OH, what a mistake that was or was it. 

Just off of exit 104 off I-95 were able to pull off at a little rinkie dink gas station along with about 100 other cars which of whom we were stranded with for 12 hours sleeping in our cars with no where to go.  Ok 6 AM everybody up and on the road again. 

OK, I have 6 days till surgery in NJ.  I am scared to death.  I am also pissed that insurance caused me to wait so long for this revsion that I regained all my wt plus and my health took a nose dive.  I have had a stroke and now have two heart blockages to deal with, being treated for severe hypertension, fatty liver disease, sleep apnea is real bad now, on the fence with diabetes and stress incontenence problems coupled with malnutrition. 

I did not have all these comorbidities before when I got my lap band.  I feel insurance has let me almost die.  I have lost most of my family and I don't want to be next.  I want to live.  This evil liquid diet is like dieing in hell on earth but it reminds me of how bad I want to live and get my DS.
