My story is the same as most, born at 118 lbs 
and went up from there... At 5'1", I'm almost as round as I am tall (not quite, but almost). After many years of yoyo diets, I've finally come to the conclusion that WLS makes sense for me. My RA played a role in determining that RNY is the best WLS for me.
I have wonderful support from my husband and 26 year old son (aka my baby as he is my only child). They both know that my health is affected by my weight and are fully behind my WLS and I am blessed to have them as my support group. My surgery is scheduled for January 7, 2008 and while I am nervous, I am looking forward to a new and healther life in the New Year.
