Update - 8 years post op and at 142 lbs. Mostly feeling good. Exremely lactose intolerant and have some issues with gastro stuff (chronic diahrea - sexy I know) flatulence. But for the most part I am good. No regrets!

Its been almost 2 years since my bypass and I think this is the first time I've actually written my thoughts. What a ride. I am down 97lbs. just shrt of my goal. I went from a size 22 to a size 8 so I am pretty satisfied. I hoped to get to 145 but its just a number right?
I look good..I feel good..so thats what matters.

It's funny because I was a "never" girl. I would never cut mybody up. I would never have gastric bypass, I could die on the table. I had children to raise. They needed me. Little did I know I was dying a little bit more everyday. Everytime I stayed home because I couldnt find something to wear I died a little. Everytime someone made fun of the fat chick I died a little. Everytime I dropped something and couldnt bend to pick it up..I died just a little bit more.

I cant tell you exactly what happened to make me change my mind. All I can do is thank Jesus that I did. I had an epiphany of sorts I guess you can say.  I hated my job. I hated myself. How did I end up where I was, feeling and looking the way I did? I remember the exact moment I decided that
I was the only one who could change my life. Within a week I was registered at my local college and started my GBS research.
Long story short:
I want to say its been a long road but the last 2 years have flown by. On 5/13/08 I started living again. In May 2009, I graduated with an associates degree and on 1/13/10 I had a panniculectomy, mini tummy tuck and liposuction. Here I sit bound stitched on pain killers and cannot wait to go bathsuit shopping. Who woulda thunk I'd ever get to say that :o).
