since i posted.  both the boys are married, lauren graduated from college over the weekend.  that was my excuse for eating so much...i munched in the car on the way to arkansas, ate while we were there, and munched on the way back.  then mother's day i ate pizza and a cannoli...it was good, but not worth the 2.5 lbs it added to my scale this morning. 

i find that i'm just cruising and i need to get serious about getting to my new goal of 148...then i'll really be set with where i want to stay...at that point 2 lbs + or - will be fine! 

OK world, time to get it done!

Tonight our youngest son is taking his girlfriend's parents out to dinner to ask for her hand in marriage.  He has the diamond ready and will pop the question Saturday night.  He is so excited!  They have been talking about getting married already and the date is March 21, 2009....so both my kids are getting married within 5 months of each other!!

Good motivation to keep losing weight.  The dress for Anthony's wedding is a 14, so maybe for Alex's I can fit into a 12!!

Saw Dr. Barnes the other day for my 6 month checkup.  I'm down 76 lbs and love that.  They saw some sludge on my gall bladder so I'm taking some horse pills 2x a day to see if we can get rid of it without surgery.

So more wedding news.  I ordered a new dress.  Decided that the flabby arms would look horrible in a short sleeve gown so I picked out a new one...and ordered a size 14.  I've never been a size 14, so I'm praying it fits when it comes in!

This has been quite a time for me.  I go up and down with losing weight, and I stall a lot...which makes me pretty sad.  I still have the concern that this won't work for me...and when I look in the mirror, I am still 264 lbs to my eyes.

Went shopping for a dress for Anthony's wedding.  Found a few, but was sad that I still had to try on XXL...but I guess if I hadn't lost these lbs I would not have been able to try any dresses on!!

My goal is to be below 189 when I go for my 6 months checkup.  That's 6 lbs away and I have 3 weeks to accomplish it....I hope I do

it's been a long wait, since march, but tomorrow is the day.  i'm not really scared anymore, been through that, but i did leave detailed information about what to do if i don't make it!!  our oldest son is getting married next year and i've promised to pay for a lot of his things and i just wanted to be sure that my husband would honor my promise.

oddly, i'm dying for a hamburg..but do, i won't do it!  so i'm going to go make jim one for dinner...and i'll just sniff his and pretent i'm eating it!  LOL

everyone on this board has been so nice...and encouraging...who would have known that our challenge with weight would make us all so good to each other.

today i start my pre op liquid diet.  a week from tuesday is my surgery.  it's been a bumpy ride at times.  the insurance said no at first because i couldn't prove i've been fat for 5 years...so i sent pictures and they immediately said OK.

like everyone (i think) i have struggled with being scared to do this surgery. my oldest son is getting married next year and i worried that i would die on the table, etc....well i'm working on that being scared thing...and i think we all have to be a little scared to have this elective surgery.  i'm more scared of being one of those poor folks who can't walk or breath because of being so overweight.

ok, off to buy some slim fast!

so yesterday I went to see the dietician...which is required by my insurance and the surgery center.  she was GREAT...a real girl who respected the person i am, and who wasn't put out by the size i am.  we had a great conversation, and set up 3 reasonable goals for the first month.  i see her for 3 months, then send the paperwork into the insurance company!!!
