I really didn't think it had been that long since I'd blogged! Wow, my bad. Anyway, our cruise was so nice -- we had a great time! The ship was beautiful, the food fantastic (bad girl, bad girl), our room was spacious with a balcony and king sz bed. I enjoyed dressing up, it was only required two of the six nights, but where else can I go and dress up just because? One or two nights I just wore a pretty sundress. I went horseback riding in SanJuan PR, that was really enjoyable. Another day my husband treated me to a hot stone massage, OMG!! that was way better than sex! If I had the extra disposable income, that would be on my schedule a minimum of once a week! Oh that felt so good! And the girl wasn't no bigger than an 11 y/o!!!! A whole hour of someone getting all the creaks out and loosening up the muscles. Um, um, um. Ok back to the cruise, the weather wasn't what we expected, rain, sun, rain, sun, typical tropical weather, but we enjoyed ourselves regardless. The HalfMoonCay (Carnival's private beach) was really nice, that day was hot and sunny, we rented a little cover, looked something like a half shell oyster made out of canvas, to keep the sun off of us, and we just lazed around, went in the water to cool off, ate a nice lunch, went back to the beach and did it all over again. St Thomas was hot and breezy, the beach was too far from the ship, plus I was tired so we just shopped, and I found a pretty white embroidered long dress, that I wore that night to dinner. My DH had a good time running around the ship and playing in the casino. We went to three or four nightclubs, didn't get to see any of the comedians b/c the venues would be filled to overflowing each and every night! They should have had them perform in the big theater. My DH got bit or rubbed up against some plant that gave him a nasty looking rash on his right leg that went from below his knee to his ankle on the last day of the cruise on Grand Turk! We didn't stay on the beach but 15 mins, b/c it started raining, so we walked around in the shops for awhile, we can't figure out where or what happened. Went to the ship's med ctr and they said it was an allergic reaction, so we used some corticosteroid cream and it cleared up in a couple of days. It didn't hurt, and it wasn't sore to the touch, but he said it started to itch at the end. But talking about looking nasty, I thought he'd caught the e-bola virus! Didn't want to get too close to it myself.
The last day at sea was uneventful, and of course that's the day we found the Adults Only pool on the very top deck! Nothing against children, but the next cruise will be on a "less fun funship". Don't know how many times, my feet were trampled on, drinks spilled on my clothes, cannonballs landing on my head, shoulders, and hip, kids running up and down the hallways after midnight, ice cream cones in my lap, etc. We went down the spiral shaped water run 3-4x and we stayed out on deck almost all day that Friday, and I got a marvelous tan! The best tan I've had since I was a kid-kid. Hardly any peeling, it's still pretty dark on my arms, legs, chest and back, but it's fading on my face but I love it. We also went to both sides of my family's reunions, held in the same park in Pennsylvania these past cpl of weeks in July. It was really nice seeing family that I haven't seen in 5-10 years. My Father's side has a reunion every yr, this was yr 44! Next yr they want to do something special for the 45th! On my Mother's side, this was only about the 10th or 11th, but we really wanted to go to that one b/c we hadn't been in a while. There was so much food at both that we could have fed 2-3 more family get-togethers! I didn't overeat at either one b/c I didn't want to feel bad. I just ate what I don't normally get a chance to have. The specialties!! Now I'm back to my regular schedule, back on track with the exercising and regular eating, but still on a stagnant plateau. No weight loss, started to keep track of what I am consuming, so I'll see what I'm doing/eating wrong. Sooooooo, going to fix my hubby some dinner, I'll TTYL..........Anita PS- will try to post some pictures too!
