  • About Us

Bariatric Surgery in NJ – Welcome to Prime Surgicare

No one wants to face surgery.

But if you're considering bariatric surgery in New Jersey, you want to put your life in the hands of a surgeon who cares about getting you back on your feet safely and as fast as possible. Join us for a free seminar, where you can find out what bariatric surgery is all about and what weight loss surgery procedures might work for you. Feel free to bring your family and friends. We are here to help you reach your goals!

My name is Dr. Seun Sowemimo, or ‘Dr. Seun’, as most patients call me. I’m a board-certified and fellowship-trained bariatric, laparoscopic and general surgeon. My practice is located in Freehold, NJ. I'm affiliated with CentraState Medical Center, Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge and Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel.

For the past 15 years, I have successfully performed thousands of operations, including weight loss surgery, emergency procedures and complex surgeries. I specialize in performing laparoscopic (minimally invasive) procedures which achieve the same or higher degree of success as traditional operations, but with smaller incisions resulting in less post-operative pain and faster recovery.

My surgical practice, Prime Surgicare, is dedicated to Quality, Care and Trust.

As a second generation surgeon, my father taught me "primum noncere" first, do no harm. Training at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Columbia and Yale Universities, I honed my technical surgical performance to the safest and highest standards. But I also never forgot that a QUALITY outcome is determined by the right surgical procedure performed at the right time.

At Prime Surgicare, we treat patients like our own friends and family. We've built lasting relationships with many patients who say they love visiting the practice if only just to say ‘hello’. Everyone on our team follows the same premise ?

If your own mother, sister or brother needed surgery, how would you want them to be treated? I’m proud to say, at Prime Surgicare, we CARE about our patients before, during and long after the operation is over..

Here we build TRUST by taking each patient as an individual not a 'case'. We explain our procedures plainly often illustrating or demonstrating, never talking over anyone’s head. Increasing our patients knowledge, so that they trust ours.

Rest assured, we understand the daunting prospect of surgery and promise you the best possible patient experience.
