I was patient back in 2005. Naaman came highly recommended so I had the procedure done. I started having pains about 6 months after and kept going to the emergency room but they never figured out what it was. I did lose all my weight and was around 135.

The pains never stopped my stomach would just bloat without warning which is why to this day I’m always I a dress. It’s a phobia of mine now. In 2007 I started to get sick and would throw up after eating. It wasn’t all the time but then a few months later I couldn’t keep any food down and was drastically dropping weight. I went from 135 to 95 lbs in just 6 months.

I started going from doctor to doctor trying to find out what was wrong and they couldn’t find anything. After months they discovered an ulcer. We tried treating it with meds but I was still losing weight and they couldn’t wait any longer. So in Sept of 2008 I went in for surgery. When the doctor came out from what was suppose to be a 45 minute procedure which now was over 7 hours. He said I was lucky to be alive. My intestines were completely twisted up in knots which created all the pains I was having, the bloated stomach and the ulcer. He was able to cut out most of my intestines which now has caused me to be anemic. I have to go in for regular iron infusions and take B12 shots every 2 weeks.

What makes me the most sad is I tried to get help from Naaman office but they refused to see me. He was being sued at the time and was getting ready to quit practicing. I couldn’t find a doctor that wanted to touch me because of
Naaman and the fear of a lawsuit. I finally
got Dr Davis to perform my surgery. But mostly because my dad was friends with the father and begged him to help me.

I wouldn’t recommend Dr Naaman ever and I’m glad he isn’t practicing anymore. He cost me years of pain and not to mention over $15000 of work on my teeth because of the throwing up. My dentist thought I was bulimic. I now have zero enamel on my teeth so constantly getting cavities etc.

I have met with Dr. Naaman once. He is a very pleasant gentleman was very thorough and answered all the questions that I had. He went over the procedure and after-care. I really liked him. His staff is wonderful and has been very helpful in getting things gathered and documents and sent to the correct places/

I loved Dr. Naaman he was great through the whole procedure and after care.

Dr. Naaman did my surgery in 2005. He has since retired and my new dr. is Dr. Speigel.

Sadly for all your pre WLS readers, Dr. Naaman has retired. He was a terrific surgeon not only for my WLS but for two subsequent procedures. I recommended him to several people and wish I could continue to do so.

Dr. Naaman and all of his staff had excellent bed side manner. Very open and knowledgable in the field of gastric bypass surgery. rn All of his patient's had nothing but good things to say about him and staff and were very encouraging even up til now four years prior to surgery. Dr. Naaman has retired now but his former staff stays in touch.rn

Dr. Naaman was an amazing doctor. He is very professional and quite serious. If anything ever happens to me and I need another surgeon for anything, he will be the man I call on. rnrnI've been to the other houston doctors, and I've met with them and listened to what they had to say... none of them made me feel as safe and as secure as he did. rnrn

First impression was that he doesn't beat around the bush and tells you like it is and is still like that.rnHis office staff is WONDERFUL! Very kind and never makes me feel like I am bothering them. Sometimes I wish we had more interaction during office visits but I know he is busy.rnThe aftercare is emphasized by his staff very well.rnHe explained to me before the surgery some of the possible risks. I wish they would have told me exactly what happened afterward though just for my own satisfaction.rnOverall, I trust him without a doubt. Enough that I placed my life in his hands and have no regrets about it.rnHis surgical competence and bedside manner are top notch!

dr. naaman and his staff are very helpful and informative. they made my journey through wls a pleasant and easy one. god bless them and the life changing work that they do to save lives. their empathy and compassion for patient care is exemplary. there is nothing i can say that would actually describe how great they are. after care and follow up is emphasized by the doctor and his staff. appointments are made promptly and there is never a long wait in the waiting room before you go back and see some one. the on line group is fantastic and very open. the doctor is very competent and his bedside manner is very pleasant, he is a very kind and good person. dr. naaman and his staff work their butts off to help obese patients and always put a smile forward. i cannot say enough good things about the doctor and staff who have been very insightful, helpful and always there for me on my journey before and after wls.. : )

He was quiet and efficient. He answered my questions with clear and concise answers.rnMy impression remains the same. rnrnHis office staff is wonderful. Julius his surgical assaitant is very approachable and honest. Bernie, who deals with insurance is very sweet and a Godsend when dealing with insurance. rnrnI really like him. He talks to you as though you are an intelligent person, not a child. I will say he is not the surgeon for you if you need a lot of coddling or hand holding.rnrnAftercare is required. he even has you sign a contract, though I seriously doubt it is legally binding, saying that you will get the aftercare needed.rnrnThe Hospital he is affiliated with is a bariatric center of excellence. The have a structured after care program with support groups and such.rnrnJulius, his assistant actually met with me before the surgery and outlined the risks. They are also givent o you in writing. And asked if we had any questions about riskd or complications beyond what we had already discussed.rnrnI thought he was excellent. His expectations are high and he required you to be on a liquid diet for 6-12 weeks after surgery to promote healing and to give time for you to adjust to your new stomach size. You also have to walk every two hours after surgery as soon as you are able to see straight after the anesthesia. He is very thorough. I had to stay an extra day because my white blood cells were a bit elevated and he wanted an IV antibotic administered before I left. I was also sent home with a liquid antibiotic that I had to take for 10 days to be sure any infection was taken care of.rnrnOverall, I was quite pleased with him. By the way, he is the doctor interviewed in Supersize Me. I did not know this until after I went to his seminar.rnrnHis surgical competence in reknowned- particulary for laparoscopic surgery. He is quiet and soft spoken. He tends to be very focused and serious. As far as bedside manner he is very pleasant, but not overly talkative.
