newhoff is an excellent doctor, was very professional and very clear and answered all my questions and always reassured me i would do well, and so far i have done well. It's been three weeks since my surgery and i have lost 20lbs and been doing good. had a few ups and downs but doing much much better.

I was very impressed with Dr. Newhoff. He took his time during our visit and answered all of my questions. He was very accomodating to my long distance travel with pre-op and post-op care. The pre-op education was somewhat overwhelming, but the staff was very patient with post-op questions and education. The worst I can say about his office staff is the phone tag that occurred before surgery regarding approval, testing, and such was frustrating. I work on a daily basis with surgeons and would rate Dr. Newhoff as very competent and caring.

'Initially started out with Dr. Schlesinger but because of insurance issues had to switch to Dr. Newhoff. Dr. Newhoff is very knowledgeable about gastric bypass and knows his stuff because he has been in practice for 28 years. At my initial visit with him

My first impression of Dr. Newhoff is that he is completely serious about this surgery and but made me feel at ease. He cracked a joke in our first meeting about the size of my file. He answered all of my questions, and was very patient. He addressed all of my concerns and emphasized that aftercare is high important for all RNY/WLS patients. I would recommend him to others for multiple reason but mostly because of his experience with the surgeries that he performs.

He has many years of performing this surgury. is very nice and explains down to details. his office is very nice and so is the staff. Saw him 1 x for my consultation.

first impression: Dr. Newhoff seems like a likable serious gent. He's been doing bypass for quite some time, and his experiance is something I'm relying on.
Don't like: He gives lectures like someone who has given one too many. A little dry and tired.

I personally believe surgical competence is better. It's nice if the person is nice, and I expect at least common courtesy. But, in all honestly the doc can be a giant A** so long as he's really really good at what he does.

Dr. Newhoff is the only surgeon that I would trust with gastric bypass surgery. I have known of him since 1983 when several people that I know used him for their surgeon. He has one of the best reputations in the Valley. He is a kind and trusting doctor. His staff is friendly and go out of their way to help.

He explains all the aspects of surgery. He makes sure that you know what you in going to endure.

Dr Newhoff very straight forward and open as to why he only does the open procedure. Relaxed and invited spouses and family in on the conversation.Started out wanting Dr. Simonh but changed my mind after a few hrs with Dr. Newhoff.
Staff- Office staff shared that 1/2 of staff left 1 month ago and the office is very behind. The staff was nice enough and Lyn was a doll. But I wanted to jump in and say "you can't say that over the phone and not increase your liability be about half. If I weren't a nurse I would have been concerned but I know how to get things done if I want them bad enough!
1/3/06 Dr. Newhoff met with my husband and I and all he did was WHINE about how many pages of medical records I had provided, about 6 inches. He hadn't even attempted to read ANY of it.(his staff said to request all records) His staff should have been more specific and requested a summary only of records related to wt/ treatment for wt loss/general Past medical history. After he carried on for 30 min. I handed him the summary (2 pages)
2/7/06 Staff let me set on hold for 29 min and the next time for 23 min before I hung up. I called back and she offered to take msg . That msg was not returned so I called the next day. to hear that I needed counseling (I knew this since 12/15/05.

Started off with the Wish Center, but decided to change and go with Dr Newhoff. Wish Center requires you to participate in the Aftercare Program that cost $2000 and is not covered under any insurance. It is just too much money for me to come up with. I have done alot of research on Dr Newhoff, plus I have friends that have gone to him. I consider him a pioneer in Bariatric surgery, as he has been doing it since 1978. I can't praise him enough, as his successful history clearly speaks for itself. Plus, I like the fact that he uses the "silastic ring" to help prevent your pouch from stretching. He is very professional and thorough. He has a very busy practice but all the office staff is very nice. I don't have one bad thing to say about Dr Newhoff or his staff.

Dr. Newhoff has been wonderful, very honest, straight forward and to the point, I have total admiration for him. We clicked immediately, I have done extensive research on both the surgery and my surgeon, I've been impressed with all the results. I feel God will Bless me while in the hands of Dr. Newhoff, I'm looking forward to my surgery.
