Dr. Amit Trivedi, Bariatric Surgeon

Amit Trivedi, MD is a highly regarded bariatric surgeon practicing at Advanced Laparoscopic Associates in Paramus, NJ. He is the attending surgeon and chairman in the Department of Surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center. He earned his medical degree and Bachelor of Science (B.S.) at Stony Brook Medical Center and completed his residency and internship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. His fellowship was earned at Hackensack University Medical Center and he also completed a fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery.

Dr. Trivedi is board-certified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and is certified for the da Vinci Surgical System and the Lap-Band System. He has participated in research studies and has authored numerous abstracts and publications. As a pioneer in laparoscopic surgery, he has authored a book chapter on the subject. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal & Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).

While he was completing his surgical residency, he realized that laparoscopic surgery was a technique that would be the wave of the future. Wanting to be on the cutting edge of minimally invasive surgery, he perfected his laparoscopic technique and has been in the forefront of performing laparoscopic surgeries.

Dr. Trivedi is very passionate about helping others to overcome obesity and obesity-related diseases. He performs the performs the Lap-Band, Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG), the Roux-en-Y (RNY), and weight loss surgery revisions. He is dedicated to patient education and support for long-term weight loss success.
