Dr. Kramer did my gastric bypass in 2005 at Russell County Medical Center in Lebanon, Va. I went in weighing 315lbs and I now weigh 125lbs, I have no loose skin and I'm doing well. Dr. Kramer was wonderful to me and I would highly recommend him!!

I haven't had surgery yet. But from my first initial appointment and meeting with several office personel, I have been more than pleased with Dr. Kramer's office. You come away with a feeling that your not just a patient but family. I have throughly enjoyed the classes that they request you go to. Intro to Weight Loss procedures, nutrition, etc. All done with a team of nurses and staff that are knowledgeable and willing to make you feel comfortable and understand what you are looking forward to. I'm just waiting to have appointment with PCP to give final clearance for the procedure that I think will better work for me. Anytime you have a question all you have to do is pick up the phone call them and ask. I could not have asked for any better.

He has had bypass himself so he is very knowledgeable, but doesn't spend much time with patients. My impression did change over time. Let's just say I don't think as highly of him as I did before. His staff is wonderful.

Dr. Kramer is my dad. I grew up in the hospital watching him deal with his patients and I was with him through his own gastric bypass and while he was being educated on how to do them. I basically have been in the hospital with him since I was 3 years old. Now, I'm 18, and I owe much of my maturity to spending time with him and his staffs. He's a good doctor, highly educated, caring, and he'll stick with patients every step of the way. He won't give up on patients, and as long as you listen to him and follow his directions, you will have a successful surgery. He does his job, the success is in the hands of the patients. What some patients don't like is that he's so straightforward, but I appreciate that because he doesn't dance around the truth. He truly cares about his patient and that makes him work better and harder. I love my dad, but that's not why I'm doing this. He's a great doctor, and he always does what's best for the patient. That's why I'm doing this, for the patients. If you're considering bariatric surgery, or changing doctors, consider Dr. Kramer. And by the way, his office has moved to Kingsport, TN. So the people on this website need to get that right. He moved almost 3 years ago.

Dr. Kramer is the best. He is extremely nice, caring, and understanding. He has had the Roux-en-Y himself so he is compasionate with what I am dealing with. Almost all of his staff in the weight loss center has had some type of WLS and they are all understanding also. rn I would give him and his staff a 10+.

My first impression of Dr. Kramer was a positive one. After initial visits, I discovered he is a no-nonsense, upfront physician. Lacks a little on humor, but he appears to be concerned about his patients. He, himself, has undergone WLS, so he appears to empathize with his patients.rnrnHis office staff is nice, albeit a little standoffish. His nurse is great.rnrnHe definitely emphasizes aftercare from WLS. He sponsors a weekly WLS meeting for those who have had or are contemplating WLS. rnrnPersonally, I think he overdoes the risks of WLS, but I suppose that is normal with all physicians. rnrnHis surgical competence is excellent, although his bedside manner can be a little cool. If I was to have a choice, it would be his surgical competence.

I had my initial consult with Dr. Kramer on Friday. He seems to be very warm and kind. He doesn't have the arrogant attitude that you find with many surgeons. I felt completely at ease. His staff members are very friendly and helpful.

He simplifies the process so you can understand exactly what each phase will entail. His staff is amazing! They are very supportive and friendly. There is a very good aftercare program to help you have a safe and speedy recovery as well as help you succeed. All of the risks were clearly outlined and explained.rnrnI would rate Dr Kramer and his staff the highest possible rating. I couldn't ask for a better team to help me achieve my weight loss goals!
