I am at the one year after surgery point. One year after laparoscopic gastric bypass I am 100 pound less. I have no joint pain and I am almost off my blood pressure medication, I am 5'8" and now I fit into size 12 pants where before the surgery I was wearing size 22-24, I am playing sports that I didn't play since high school, I am on a baseball team and actually run the bases, everything is better. This was so easy, the surgery was so easy, loosing the weight was so easy. People think that you will never eat again, but you are eating everything just with more conciousness and it is the best decision I made in my entire life and I definetely think that I will live longer because I am so much healthier.

Had the opportunity to meet this wonderful Dr. Dr. Frantzides and his staff are wonderful. He is a very informative, caring Dr. I can't wait to have my Surgery. This Dr. is not only caring, he's very attractive, and his bed side manner was great. I left that office more informed than I came. I was nervous at first, but he comforted me. Presently I am having insurance problems and Dr. Frantzides was very helpful. I don't have to even wonder about whose gonna do my surgery, cause I am gonna WAIT until this insurance Mishap subsides. The experience to meet you and your staff was truly amazing...I trust this Dr. ..Dr. Frantzides see around Open Enrollment....New Body, New Me...See Ya Soon.

I am a 61 year old man that has a 6 year old Grandson that I want to see grow up.
Having the surgery is a tough decision but after going through all the pre-qualifying and counseling I made the decision to go ahead with the Laparocsopic gastric bypass.
I am six months past the operation now and I am totally satisfied with the results,I was 477 pounds before surgery and I have already lost over 90 pounds. I am getting back to the person I was 25 years ago with more get up and go and I am not as exousted when my Grandson visits. I am definitely happy with my decision.
Dr. Franzide and his staff have guided me through the rough spots and have been there for me when I needed them most.
If I had to to do over again I wouldn't change a thing. I am surely glad that this surgery is available to people that have been on the diet roller coaster without any results other than depression and self- desgust.

I am 23 years old and a year and a half post op. Since my surgery, I have lost just over 100 pounds! Last week, Dr Frantzides and Dr Welle did a hernia repair and tummy tuck on me. I cannot even begin to describe how exstatic I am with the results. The best decision I made was choosing Dr F as my surgeon. Ever since the day I met him, I knew that he would take great care of me. My first surgery went flawlessly as did my second. Dr F & his team took incredible care of me! Any questions/concerns I had, they were always here to support me and provide me with the information that I needed. Losing the weight and feeling good in my skin has given me the chance to live the life I have always wanted. Dr F is to thank for supporting me and giving me the best surgery possible. I will always be thankful to him and his team.

I saw Dr. Frantzides in August. I was so sure that nothing was going to work for me, and pretty much gave up on ever being "normal" again. My whole family (Husband, Daughter, Mom) came to the appointment because they were not sure if they liked the idea of me getting the surgery. The first thing he said to me was "This is not your fault. Its not your fault that you cant lose the weight" Why is it that this is ALWAYS the first thing we think about...that we are FAILURES. By the time the appointment was over (2 hours later) I knew every aspect of the surgery, what to expect after, and what to expect in the long run. When all four of us left his office, we ALL said how amazing he is. He is the most kind hearted, nice Doctor I have ever met! And on top of it all HE HAS A SENSE OF HUMOR!!!

I had my surgery on September 10th. I was out of the hospital on September 11th. I have not had ANY complications, but I have also followed his plan to a T! I cant say enough about this. Today he told me that with this surgery I have added at least 15 years onto my life. I look at my 9 year old daughter and think...Thank God (Or just Dr. Frantzides) or as my mother calls him...Dr. Fabulous! If you are looking for a Doctor, and cant make up your mind...He's the one! If you would like any additional information feel free to email me: [email protected].

Oh...btw...in 1 month...I'm 35 pounds down!

Today April 26, 2012 marks the One year anniversary of my surgery. My start weight was 319 lbs, now one year later I'm down to 231 lbs. I feel great and have a lot more energy. With the weight loss I have found a renewed joy in my social life. Being a scuba diver, my bottom time has increased because I am carrying less weight and use a lot less energy while swimming. I have no shortness of breath when I walk long distances. While working out at the gym, people literally tell me everytime that I look great. I will admit that I had resevations on doing the laparoscopic gastric bypass but have to say after one year it was a great decision and should have made it sooner.

Had RNY surgery 2 years ago. Have lost over 110 lbs. since. The staff (all members), and especially Dr. Frantzides were nothing but professional. A 100% positive experience. Have never looked and felt better. Am in the best shape of my life. Am now able to do everything that I had been putting off for years. I would recommend Dr. Frantzides highly to anyone considering this type of surgery.

It's been a year since Dr. Frantzides performed my surgery on January 22, 2010 and I'm feeling wonderful. I went to him when I had lost all hope of improving my quality of life. I had previously had an open hiatal hernia repair that failed and I was diagnosed as morbidly obese. I was in constant pain, choking on everything I ate, had difficulty in breathing and just walking had become an effort. Several other doctors had told me that they wouldn't accept me as their patient due to my medical history and prior surgeries. One of the doctor's at the University of Illinois told me that I would possibly die if I proceeded with this surgery.
From the time my husband and I met with Dr. Frantzides in his office, he explained everything he could to give us the hope and understanding of the risks involved in the surgery. It was an extremely difficult and long surgery and I know that he was probably more worried than we were. I told my husband and family that with all the risks involved I was putting myself in God's hands and his skills and no matter what happened it was what I wanted to do. I'm sure that God was with all of us during the surgery. Dr. Frantzides managed to do the operation laparoscopically though other doctors wouldn't even attempt it open. He repaired my hiatal hernia and also did a gastric bypass. I feel that Dr. Frantzides was the guardian angel at my side as God guided his hands. I don't think there is a day that I don't appreciate the change in my life. I look forward to each day as I probably wouldn't have without his help and caring. He is an inspiration to me and I am sure to many others. Words can't express the admiration and love we have for him. I would also like to express my appreciation to his office staff who made us feel so comfortable as they treated us like family.

For years I was a yo-yo my weight going up and down and it took me 3 years to finally decided I wanted to go through the gastric-bypass. I was about 100 pounds over weight, I was borderline diabetic and I knew I had to make a change in my life. It is a scary thought because of all the side effect you may encounter. On Tuesday, December 28, 2010 I did it. I went through the laparoscopic gastric bypass and I have no regrets. In 10 days I have lost 20 pounds. I look different and feel good. Dr. Frantzides and his staff were such wonderful people. Answered all of my questions, friendly, outgoing, funny. I will highly recommend anyone to Dr. Frantzides. They have already changed my life.

Thank you Dr. Frantizdes and his staff
