Dr. David Dyer, Bariatric Surgeon

David Dyer, MD, FACS is a board-certified general and bariatric surgeon specializing in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery including the latest advancements in robotic assisted surgery. He earned a BA with distinction at the University of Mississippi and went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis. He completed an internship at Baptist Hospital and his residency at the University of Tennessee and Baptist Hospital. Recognized as a pioneer of laparoscopic gallbladder surgery, Dr. Dyer has trained numerous surgeons throughout his career. He is the founder of Dyer MD Weight Loss Surgery in Nashville, Tennessee and is currently Chief of General Surgery at Centennial Medical Center.

Dr. Dyer is a member of the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the American Medical Association (AMA), the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), the Tennessee Medical Association, the Nashville Academy of Medicine (NAM), Nashville Surgical Society, (NSS.) He  currently serves as Vice President of the Tennessee Chapter of ASMBS and is a past president of the Nashville Surgical Society.
