First impression was caring and professional. That impression never changed, although post-op there was a definite sense of humor that was not noted pre-op.

I find the office staff to be extraordinarily helpful and willing to respond as quickly as they can, even (perhaps especially?) to paranoia questions. I have heard that some people have quarrels with the no-nonsense attitude of the staff, but I'd rather have the straight story from the start than having things glossed over, so I'm very happy with them.

Future patients should know that Dr. Denham does the surgery, but aftercare is provided (unless it involves further surgery or surgical complications) by nurse practitioners and dieticians. The system works well for me.

Aftercare is hugely emphasized - regular visits, regular data checks, monthly education groups, reminders that, forever, if you regain as little as 8 pounds to come in for assistance. The intent is to help you lose and KEEP IT OFF.

Risks of surgery were delineated several times, including those which are extremely minimal. Search online for complaints or problems revealed only that some people didn't like the office staff - no complaints about Dr. Denham or any of his surgeries.

Overall, superb program. I found both surgical competence and bedside manner to be excellent. The only quibble I have is that it is difficult to schedule appointments - he's good enough to be extremely busy!

Excellent experience with Dr. Denham. From the beginning consultation he was very kind and extremely helpful and informative on all my options. Took plenty of time to explain the surgeries and what each entailed. Told me what he recommended but said decision was totally my choice. Surgery went very well. Up and walking in no time and thankfully no complications. He came to see me after the surgery. Very encouraging. Great followup. His whole staff is excellent - extremely efficent, kind and caring and excellent informative timely responses to any/all questions.

I went to Dr. Denham for help after I had a VBG erode to my stomach. He was arrogant, pompass, and self righteous. He actually refused to help me. He was very non empathetic and non compassionate. He actually told me he was not going to help me, and I needed to go back to that hospital, and the Dr. who did the prior work on me .The prior surgeon was a horrible experience and caused me much pain, and lots of mental anguish. I have never experienced a medical professional refuse to help a patient in pain. Until I met Dr. Denham. Years have passed now. I am still having the same pain as I was. Dr Denham was my first choice for the original procedure. (The removal of the eroded band. )However, my insurance company sent me for a second opinion, and forced me to choose the second opinion Dr. instead of Dr. Denham. It seemed to me, Dr. Denham was angry at the choice the insurance company imposed on me, and he refused me based on that. As long as I live, I can never believe a Dr. refused me based on his spite, and anger with me based on the insurance companies decision. It was not my fault.....but he wanted to show me and make me suffer for something out of my control. Makes the hipppocratic oath seem non existent.

Dr. Denham is an amazing doctor. He's very understanding, easy to talk to, and very caring. Having gastric bypass surgery was the best decision I ever made. I had diabetes, asthma, knee pain from too much weight and sleep apnea. It's been 3 years since my surgery and I'm no longer diabetic and I sleep just fine. I lost 75 lbs. and I've kept the weight off. Dr. Denham saved my life!!!!!

My first impression of Dr. Denham was that he was very caring and informative! He laid all the information out so you knew about the good, the bad and the ugly. He explained the different kind of procedures and let me know which type he recommended for me, but said that it was my choice. I have heard soooooo many positive things about him from other patients and from every healthcare professional that I've come in contact with since the beginning of this journey. He was actually recommended to me from my vascular surgeon, who said she would let him operate on her without a doubt!! To hear another surgeon say that is BIG TIME! They know who's good and who's not! The Dr. who performed my EDG said that he is GREAT, the nurse in the pre-op area before my EDG said he is the WLS God! I'm a bit nervous about my upcoming surgery, but I am very confidant in the surgeon! I would recommend Dr. Denham to anyone who is looking. Also, Liz Farwell, who is an NP and Bariatric Coordinator at his office is just too awesome! She's great, she tells it like it is and is very easy to talk to!
