Dr. Wongsa is a nice man, but there is no humor about him. He tells it like it is, and doesn't sugar coat the truth. Very straight forward and obviously knows his business very well. I like him.
UPDATE Feb.4, 2004: Attended a seminar and saw Dr. Garth Davis, son of Dr. Robert Davis at the Scurlock Tower in downtown Houston. Because of the aftercare program,the patient rapport, and because I had my heart surgery at Methodist Hospital, I've decided to have Dr. Davis perform the gastric bypass for me. Very informative seminar, including risks and aftercare, which are very important to me.
I had my initial consultation with Dr. Garth Davis and Dr. Robert Davis on 1/14/04. I was very impressed with their presentation and their very personable and compassionate demeanor. These doctors are a father and son which perform the surgery together on all their patients. I have spoken to patient's that have been treated by them and have not heard or read one negative comment. His office staff is great. They have put together a standardized approach to this surgery and aftercare program. I am so glad I found them. They do have a very structured aftercare program that is now being implemented. They reviewed the various types of weight-loss surgery and the risks and complications that could be involved. I rate them highly in my initial contact with them and their practice and would recommend them to anyone. I believe that I would rate surgical competence as being more important than bedside manner but I feel that these doctors are equally skilled in both.
