5/22/01 Dr. Alexander is wonderful! I felt comfortable with him from the moment I walked in. I had my EGD yesterday (5/21/01) and hope to have my surgery next week sometime. He cares very deeply about his patients and will always answer any questions you have. So far, I am very pleased with his bedside manner. But, I have to say, the EGD was pretty uncomfortable compared to previous ones I have had before for GERD/acid reflux.

Dr. Alexander seems to be a very confident, skilled, and trustworth physician. I was suprised at how fast he was able to work us into his schedule for surgery...when you make this decision, it is nice not to have to wait for months to see the results.

I have not yet met him. I am still dealing with his staff and trying to get insurance straightened out. My first phone call I was concerned about the staff the lady whom answered felt the doctor could not help me. I asked for Sabrina whom I have seen in profiles and she has been helpful and reasurring. Sabrina has been good to email me and trying to help me with insurance. Now we just play the waiting game.

I had my operartion on March 21st. Dr. Alexander is wonderful. My intial consultation with him was for 2 and 1/2 hours and he never made me or my husband feel rushed at all.

Sabrina (the insurance specailist) is wonderful. Very helpful, professional, knows her job, and gets the insurance to reply ASAP, it was less than 3 weeks after meeting with the doctor that I received approval from the insurance.

I had a choice wether to go with a Doctor that was covered 100% by my insurance but I didn't feel that they had the same experience, knowledge, or expertise as Dr. Alexander.

Dr. Alexander or someone from the office always responds to phone calls immediately. After the operation he came to check up on us and always asked if we needed anything for pain or anything at all.

I would not have let anyone else do this operation for me.

I would recommend him to anyone thinking of

Dr. Alexander was wonderful. He truly cares about his patients, which is something that is rare.

I would highly recommend him to anyone in the Dallas metroplex who is considering this type of surgery.

Dr. Alexander was very confident that I could be helped with this surgery, and he was right.
After 6 weeks, I have lost 50 pounds, down from 332lbs. the day of surgery, and I feel great.
His staff was wonderful, in particular, Sabrina. She basically walked me through the insurance process and told me how to get approved.
When I did exactly what Sabrina said, my insurance approved the WLS within a week and surgery was scheduled within 6 weeks.
I had done a lot of research prior to surgery over the internet, so I understood alot about the aftercare prior to surgery.
Dr. Alexander is a stickler for maintaining certain diets and exercise. I was on liquid for three weeks before solid foods, and
I can have no sugars, carbonated beverages, beef, rice or bread. I find when I don't stay on the prescribed foods, I pay for it later.
I was also familiar with the risks of the surgery and since I had had my gall bladder out 2 years previously, I had some idea what to expect.
Although Dr. Alexander is not exactly Marcus Welby when it comes to a bedside manner, I can say he is a terrific surgeon. I have had absolutely no
problems after surgery. My incision healed well, no vomiting, no nausea, no bloating, no hernia. Give me a great surgeon over bedside manner any day.

My initial consultation will be on April 10, 2001. Sabrina, his insurance specialist, was very sweet on the phone. I'll update comments after I meet him in person.
4/11/01 I met with Dr. Alexander yesterday. He made me feel very comfortable He has a wonderful bedside manner. He addressed all of the pros and cons of the surgery. I felt very confident with his surgical competence. I feel that I have made the best decision in choosing him for my surgeon. Also, I met with Sabrina, his insurance specialist, and she told me what the process would be. The next step is to go for my EDG. Then I'll anxiously await my surgery date.

I became very frustrated with my initial choice of Bariatric Treatment Centers. I could not get a surgery date. They were switching surgeons.

I came across Dr. John H Alexander. Within three weeks of my new find and the help of the insurance specialist there, I had my surgery.

Dr. Alaxander is wonderful. He is compassionate, informative, and seems to be well respected.

My experience with the hospital staff he has at Health South in Dallas is wonderful as well. I met everyone that would be on the surgical team. They all made me feel very comfortable.

I would recommend him ot everyone considering this surgery.
