Dr. Alexander is GREAT!!! He made me and my husband feel so comfortable. I really like his attitude. His office staff is very friendly and Sabrina is very helpful. I hope to get an approval from the insurance company so that Dr. Alexander can do my surgery.

My first impression of Dr. Alexander was very good. He seemed very knowledgeable and competent while discussing the procedure he performs. I did check his background with the AMA and with the Better Business Bureau and to my delight, he passes with flying colors. My impression has only improved over time. He is a very caring, very personally involved surgeon. His office staff is very professional and courteous, easy to work with. The thing I like the best about Dr Alexander is of course his level of surgical skills. He is extremely good at what he does and anyone would be safe in his hands. There really is nothing about Dr Alexander that I do not like. He is a super surgeon! All future patients of Dr Alexander should know that he cares deeply for each of us and is deeply upset if you have any type of problem and you don't call him. It is very important to him to hear from you if you experience any difficulties. He has even met me and my son in the emergency room on a Sunday morning to take care of a problem - at no charge to us. Now that is a caring surgeon! His emphasis on aftercare is monthly office visits to maintain your focus on why you had this surgery in the first place. He also has an online support group ([email protected]) as well as a monthly meeting with preops and postops getting together to support one another. I felt that Dr Alexander definitely stresses the risks of this operation. He does not ever candy coat anything he tells you about your health or condition, ever. Overall if I had to rate him on a scale of 1 - 10, he is an 11!! There is no way to compare his competence with his bedside manner - they are both outstanding. He is my hero!

My birthday is March 3. That's what I call my surgery date since that is the day my new life started. I weighed 318 lbs. the morning of my surgery. Two weeks ago, I weighed 216.5.

I don't weigh myself all the time so that the small fluctuations and plateues don't have such a negative effect on me. I know that I have lost more since then because my pants are getting baggy again.

My first impression of Dr. Alexander was good. His office situation was a bit unsettled and confusing, but I was comfortable with Dr. A. Dr. A has moved his office and hired a completely new office staff. They are a great group of people that work hard to see that the patients get the care that they are looking for. A member of the staff is also a patient.

Dr. A explains the whole procedure in terms so that you can understand what is ahead of you and you know what to expect. He will tell you what is on his mind and won't lie to you. He will tell you about the risks. He will also tell you about the positive effects of this surgery. You won't find a better doctor. I rank Dr. Alexander on the top of the list of surgeons doing this surgery.

I would want everyone to know that I placed my life in the hands of Dr. A and I wouldn't change it for the world. WLS was the best thing that I have ever done for myself and I couldn't be happier with the quality of care that I have received from Dr. A.

Dr. A just completed a hernia repair surgery last week on me. Again, I was completely confident in his abilities. I was more nervous at a male cancer screening two weeks ago than I was waiting for the surgery to start. I know that Dr.A is going to take care of me.

Liked him very much. Was very informative and seems his office has a lady named Sabrina that will fight hard. I liked the fact that he was very assuring of safety and risks before I asked. Didn't really dislike anything but I've only seen him once (Jan 15th). The literature said a great deal about aftercare and stressed that they would continue to work with me afterward. So far overall rate is very good. 1/19/01 Received copy of letter that Sabrina sent to insurance company. The letter was very professional and was sent exactly when I was told it would be. I've been scheduled for my EGD and Sabrina called and made sure my appointment was correct. She has been very informative in every aspect of the procedures necessary to try and get this approved.

Dr. Alexander came highly recommended by two people who are post-op. His office staff, particularly Sabrina, are great. I have been told that he will get upset with you if you don't call him pre or post-op for even the smallest question or concern. I feel that Dr. A has the most experience in Dallas for RNY and cares about his patients as much or more than anyone else. I did have a little frustration from the beginning trying to get some solid insurance info, but then Sabrina got involved and helped out. Dr. A uses HealthSouth of Dallas along with RHD Memorial. I am having my surgery done at RHD because I learned that HealthSouth's Director of Surgery could deny my surgery the day before, for what reasons I don't know but I was told that's his choice and that Dr. A cannot question the hospital. So due to the fact of needing two weeks of work off, I decided I need a more solid surgery date than that, RHD here I come.

Dr. Alexander is a great surgeon. He always made me feel that he would do anything and everything in his power to make sure this surgery would be approve. He is always just a phone call away if you need him and he will return your call within minutes. It is important that you follow-up with your aftercare visit to make sure that you are healing well and to see how much weight you have lost. (That's great) If you haven't had this surgery please do it will be the best gift that you can give to yourself within weeks you will feel like a new person and your self-esteem will sky rocket.

My first impression of Dr. A was great. He is very personable and warm. I like a "touchy - feely" type of physician. He reminds me of a GP instead of a surgeon. My impression over time has only gotten better with the tremendous after care I have received. As far as his office staff goes, I think they are typical of most staffs whereby they don't know how anxious most of us are to get through this; however, they have been very helpful.

I think patients should know that Dr. A is very "attainable" If you have questions after the surgery, he ALWAYS calls you back and his answering service is set up to call you back in 20 minutes to make sure you have had a return phone call. His aftercare program includes a return visit 3 days after surgery, two weeks later, two weeks later and then once a month.

Dr. Alexander explains all the possible risks and complications from the surgery and draws pictures on the board to show you exactly what he will be doing. He is very thorough. When I went in, I had a whole list of questions, before he even let me ask one he had answered almost all of my questions. He also has an excellent support group that meets once a month and has an on-line egroups support site for sharing information. They also visit most of the patients after surgery to answer questions and let you know that they are there for you.

I rate him overall as Excellent. His surgical competence and bedside manner are excellent.
