I would like to Thank Dr. Alexander for giving me my life back. I under went the Ruan Y Gastric Bypass on December 14th 2012. I started out weighting 268 pound & now 6 weeks later I am 227 I've lost an amazing 41 pounds. My most thankful thing is that prior to my surgery I was a diabetic who relied on two shots a day since the surgery I'm no longer a diabetic and I no longer have to take shots twice a day & prick my fingers to test my blood sugar. My energy level has gone through the roof & I'm full of energy. I would strongly recommend Dr Alexander and his staff and the Forest Park Medical Center for anyone considering any type of barbaric surgery. My only regret is that I didn't do this years ago. I am so looking forward to my journey of loosing weight and becoming a healthier me & I have Dr Alexander to thank for all of this. Thank You & GOD bless....
One night while watching television. A commercial came on that seemed like it was talking directly tome. The commercial was for Dr. John Alexander's bariatric center. Dr. Alexander didn't make me feel embarrassed that I had gained back a good portion of the weight I lost. He made me feel comfortable and assured me he would help get me back on track.
Wow, Dr. A is amazing. He took time to really explain what he thought went wrong with my initial surgery and then actually drew me a picture (literally) of what he is going to do to correct it. He seems to really care about getting the patient healthy and on their way to a slimmer life.
Dr. Alexander is a perfect Gentleman. He understands his patients. I am having my surgery on 9/8/10 and I so excited. The girls in the office worked very hard getting me approved for surgery.
I had lap band surgery back in May 2004. Unfortunately, I was not very successful with that. Now, five years later I am preparing to have revision surgery with Dr. John Alexander. I am very confident with Dr. Alexander and I feel that since he has been performing weight loss surgeries for over twenty years he is very skilled. He also told me that most of the surgeries that he performs are revisions. Alot of people are now having their lap band removed. His office staff are all very helpful and courteous as well. I am so excited about this new journey in my life.
Dr. Alexander seemed to be very experienced in both bypass and revision surgeries. His staff was always professional and worked well with my insurance company. Dr. Alexander stresses the importance of aftercare such as support meetings that are held in his office and follow up appointment which all lead to a patient’s success. After care program includes exercises as well as following the bariatric diet. He addressed all my questions post op and was willing to spend as much time as I needed to be sure I had and understood all the answers to my questions. Overall I would rate him an excellent surgeon. Both his surgical competence and bed side manner were good.

Dr. Alexander has a very common sense approach to weightloss surgery. His goal is to get you back to living a \"normal\" life as much as possible. He is extremely optimistic and some may not like that. He was voted one of Dallas, TX \"Top Docs\" and has extensive experience. Please check out his website you won't be disappointed!
I went to Dr. Alexander as a referral from a relative. I was having complications with the Lap band. Dr. Alexander was very helpful, thourgh, and made sure that my needs were met and that I was taken care of and happy. He is a great doctor that I will refer to family friends and co-workers. His staff is very helpful and was able to assist with any questions I needed to be answered. I will rate Dr. Alexander a 10.
