    Dr. Jonathan Hata, Bariatric Surgeon Jonathan Hata, MD, FACS, FASMBS is a highly regarded bariatric surgeon at the Surgical Weight Loss Program at Frye Regional Medical Center in the Catawba Valley region of North Carolina. After completing his undergraduate studies at Wheaton College, he went on to earn his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine, where he also completed his internship and residency. Additionally, Dr. Hata is fellowship trained in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Hata is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (FASMBS). As an expert in his field, Dr. Hata has also co-authored numerous publications and abstracts.     Dr Hata is great he is the best surgeon I have ever had I could not even tell anything had been done I had no pain with my surgery just a little sore is all. I had the gastric bypass surgery done 4/26/16

    Dr. Hata is the greatest! I am 9 months out post-surgery and have lost 88 lbs!, you can barely see my tiny little scars. I is very meticulous with his patients and his procedure. I could not have asked for a better surgeon!
