Ramsey Dallal Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Ramsey Dallal, MD joined Einstein Healthcare Network in 2005 as a member of the Department of Surgery and the Director of Einstein Bariatrics, Einstein’s interdisciplinary, minimally-invasive surgical weight loss program. He also serves as the Vice Chair for the Department of Surgery.  As Einstein’s most experienced bariatric surgeon, Dr. Dallal has performed thousands of laparoscopic weight loss surgery procedures. He has published numerous research papers in the field of minimally-invasive and weight loss surgery - often focusing on laparoscopic and bariatric surgery, patient safety, and outcomes. Under the mentorship of many weight loss surgery pioneers, Dr. Dallal completed a surgical residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), which was one of the first programs in the country to perform the laparoscopic gastric bypass. There, he trained in the techniques of bariatric surgery with the laparoscopic surgical team and trained many surgeons how to perform the laparoscopic gastric bypass, Lap-Band® procedure and other complex weight loss procedures. Dr. Dallal is a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery and an active member in numerous surgical societies, where he advances his expertise in the field with the latest trends in the industry. He has been a leader in the field at a national level in promoting patient safety.
