Stephen Sundberg Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr. Sundberg is a wonderful man!! Very cheery when he came into the room and answered every single question I had. His staff has been wonderful considering all the hassle we've had since my approval date. Even tho I called almost every single week they never got upset or annoyed. When I passed on info I received from ACS the office manager was SO grateful that I got the info I did. When they offered to do VSG instead I immediately had questions she couldn't answer. She told me she would find out and she would call me back in about an hour. SERIOUSLY 10 mins later my phone rang and it was Dr. Sundberg!!! I was floored that the Dr would take time out to answer the few questions I had rather then have a nurse call me. Dr. Sundberg has had Gastric Bypass and to me thats a plus. Knowing what overweight patients go through on a daily basis is helpful. I would recommend him to others and now that he is in Grinnel, IA it is not too far from Des Moines and a much smaller community. I know from growing up in Des Moines and moving to a small town I like the feel of a smaller community.

THE MAN IS CARING AND JUST OVER ALL WONDERFUL AND WOULD REFER ANYONE TO HIM, WHICH I HAVE DONE AND HE WILL BE PREFORMING THE SURGERY ON MY BABY SISTER SOMETIME IN THE NEAR FUTURE AND HIS STAFF IS WONDERFULL AND UNDERSTANDING ALSO JUST LIKE HIM

When i first met Dr SundBerg it was In Oct of 2006 he did my Hysterectomy My first thoughts about him was he is a very nice man and a caring dr. He will sit down and answer any questions you may have he is just a very comfortable Dr. to be around.My impression of Dr.Sundberg has not changed He office staff are very nice and friendly.He did my Gastirc bypass on May 16th. 2007 And what is neat about talking to him about this is he himself has had this surgery so he is a great source of information. and He is funny too.The day of my interview with him he tells you all about the surgery and the risks that there are with it.I would rate him from 1 to 10 He would Be 10+ I think he is great dr and surgeon i would have him do any other surgeries if i were to have any.I trust him that much. this is just what I think of him my self.

My first impression of him was great. He has had the surgery himself so he really knows what to tell you. He gave me the good and the bad. I also loved his staff. His PA Stephanie was wonderful and so was his nurse.

Dr. Sundberg is now in Grinnell, Iowa where I had my Lap RNY.... He did a great job and I have the upmost respect for him.rnHe also had this surgery done and has been VERY successful at it.rnHis biggest advice to me is....\"Its all an expirement from here\" (when it comes to eating)rnI recommend him to anyone!!!

Dr Sundberg has moved to Grinnell Regional Hospital and is a very caring person. He has had WLS himself. His staff has been very helpful.

From the moment I went to Dr. Sundberg's information class, I was impressed. He, being a bariatric patient himself, knew exactly what it was like to be obese and deal with the everyday difficulties of life. He was very informative and simple to understand.
Once I met him face to face, I was even more impressed. He and his staff are extremely caring and make you feel so secure with your decision. If you walk in with fears, you will leave feeling secure with your decision.

Dr. Sundberg is a very caring person along with his office staff. They have always answered my questions promptly, and have also been great friends.

Dr. Sundberg and associates are very helpful. I feel that Dr. Sundberg knows what I am going through since he has had the surgery as well.

Dr Sundberg and Dr Unger are the surgeons I have ever seen. They are very caring and professional. Dr Sundberg has had the surgery himself so he understands first hand what we are going through. I had a few problems after the surgery and he was right there when I needed him most. He drove all the way from Boone to see me instead of making me drive to see him. I can't say enough good things about this man. His staff is always there to answer any questions I have, even though I am 10 months out now. I knwo I can call and they will do everything they can to help me. On a scale of 1 - 10 I give him a 20.
